Point noted. Plus, I doubt that Steve took the Cup to Detroit's version of Scores when the Wings ended their 40+ year drought.
However (and this pains me, because I hate the Red Wings), the man wore the C on his sweater continuously from Iran-Contra until this week, and even Mess-ee-aaa can't come close to that.

My office is full of people watching the World Cup in conference rooms.
They even gave us guacamole and chips yesterday. And free soda (Hi Coltrane)!
P.S. - Italy will win. Barthez is a joke of a keeper and I think Italy has conceded only one goal so far (the og in the USA game). France is more of an attacking threat than Germany, but Italy will score as many as they have to.

I'd be careful. NYC firms can be cut throat. Putting TVs on with some soccer game in the middle of a workday might be a round about way to identify non-partnership track factotems without having to actually review their work.

Maybe they already know about whether you're on track?

Yes, platterific! It was really mostly due to some sushi loving clients being in the office, but I'll take it any way I can get it. lol.

France will win. Barthez will continue to bobble easy shots, unexplainably drop balls in the box, and punch at crosses he should be catching, yet will continue to miraculously escape any consequences of his bumbling play. France will score two in the second half, one from Zidane and one from either Henry or Vierra.

anything worthy of mention is usually attributable to a client's presence.....one time we ordered this really fancy luncheon and the meeting cut out early so we were able to enjoy the luncheon even so.....then again, if you said that Per Se catered your luncheon I would then cry....

We have quite a few international associates here and the partnership likes to see that you can mingle with them and enjoy some common social activities. The last thing they want to do is make a partner out of some parochial middle-american yahoo who can't handle himself with the continentals on a high-profile matter. Bad for the image, you understand.

I agree totally. We have an international presence and it is considered very erudite to partake in an interest in the World Cup...quite the thing to do. Similar to how golf creates bonds as does the ability to discuss such things. As the deals go international....so do the activities and interests.

Barthez will be found out for the chump he is. As for goals, I have been told by one internet pundit that "Viera couldnae score in a barrel a' fannies." While the image is somewhat disturbing, I tend to agree.
