But now I have to navigate the diet coke with splenda, and whatever the fuck this Coke zero thing is that is currently in my office.
I just want diet coke. I don't want you to fuck with it. I don't want you to "improve" upon it. I don't want you to try and mess with a good thing. I don't need new flavors. I don't need it to taste like your coca cola product.
Remember what happened when you tried to introduce "new" coke in the 80s? Same shit. Leave it alone, and let it be easy for me to purchase diet coke.

Dear CVS,
Stop carrying the other shit. You're just encouraging them and confusing me.

The Cherry Diet Coke is the tastiest, followed by Vanilla, then regular. The Lime is nasty and Lemons is ehh.
Diet Sunkist is really good, and believe it or not, has a pile of caffeine in it. Oh, and you can't forget Dr. Pepper. best diet soda out there, particularly the Cherry Vanilla flavor.

So was the mistaken purchase of a 12-pack or a 24-pack?

Fortunately, only 20 ounce. The problem is that the Coke machine here is frought with peril, so I'm going to have to venture out to get more Diet Coke. I've gotten more Sprite than Diet Coke by hitting the Diet Coke button.

Reunited! Lakers hire Jackson back
Coach led team to three straight NBA championships.
And yet, Kobe is still there. Nice. Write a book and then come back. No hard feelings, right?

I know I shouldn't be stunned, because per the radio it's been a done deal for awhile, but I'm still stunned. This Laker team is bad and it's going to be very bad next year. So what does Phil know that we don't? Are they going to try to swing a deal with the Hawks for the #2 pick to draft Marvin? Are they going to sign Michael Redd? Who else is out there to sign? A team with Kobe, Odom, Butler and Mihm . . . well let's just say that doesn't compare well to Duncan, Nazr, Parker and Ginobli, or Nash, Amare, Marion and Q, or Dirk, Terry, Finley and Howard, or Yao, T-Mac, Mike James, and Generic White Outside Shooter

If this means Jon Berry, he's actually a detriment. If this means Bob Sura you need to watch him play more.
At lunch today I was sitting at an outdoor patio 100 yards from the hotel where the players/TV people stay. Bill Walton walked by! I hoped he wold sit down to eat, so I could hear him complain about the risotto. Instead he walked to the Birmingham 8 for a matinee. I bet sitting near him in the theatre is no picnic.
As to Jackson, I guess he's ready to challenge the "guy who can only coach a fully loaded team" theory. I would have thought he'd pick something a little more fully stocked though.

I was looking forward to Jackson being exposed as the fraud he is when he does worse next year than the Lakers have done this year, but he has a built in excuse, doesn't he? Fuck up and point your finger at Kobe as being too selfish to coach. Cash your check and walk.

Word around here is that Sacramento tried to get him (Phil) to go there. Then there was lots of laughing by the radio guys. As if Phil would ever go to Sac.
From ESPN...The Lakers are well over the salary cap, restricting their ability to bring in high-priced free-agent talent for at least two years. Their defense was abysmal last season; they had an unbalanced roster with too many small forwards; they had virtually no inside presence on either end of the court; and they were suspect at point guard.
Jeanie Buss, the owner's daughter and the Lakers' executive vice president of business operations, publicly lobbied for months for the return of Jackson, her longtime boyfriend.
She finally got her wish.
Bryant's reaction to a return by Jackson has seemed lukewarm at best. Shortly after Tomjanovich's resignation, Bryant said he would "roll with it" if Jackson returned.

I was actually thinking of Scott Padgett. Though I'm not sure if he's under contract for next year.
And as for Bill : "This restaurant is putting on an absolute clinic. The service! The ambience! The veal picatta is sublime! Look at this busboy pour the water. Pour it down, big man! Pour it down!"

What is Coke zero? the marketing campaigns haven't begun, at least not on my Tivo. All I could get off the box is that it has zero calories, which tells me not much.
As for DC w/ Splenda, why does it taste different from DC w/ nutrasweet? The taste to me is a bit more citrus, which makes it not bad (Not Bad?), but it's still damn confusing.
As for vanilla-flavored anything, I'd sooner wear a ferragamo tie and socks with my suit than drink vanilla-flavored goodness.

Does that excuse work, given that he already wrote the book on it?
"I quit, again; I can't coach Kobe. He's uncoachable"
"But Coach Jackson, didn't you know that already? May I quote . . . ."
Obviously he can say it, but he looks like an idiot for thinking he could change Kobe. It's like listening to Slave hope to change Paigow.

What does God do when someone goes to the fan website and buys all the fan's tickets and sells them at a jacked up price and doesn't even give Sting any kickback?
