Can someone please explain to me why I never liked Queen when they were contemporary, but now I love them?
I think I was too much of a priss when they were together/alive.
But I'm willing to entertain other theories.

They were too goofy when you were an angry young woman. Now you realize Mercury might have had the best voice of any rock singer in history.
ETA: I always feel odd driving around cranking "Keep Yourself Alive," like some Nelson Muntz-like kid will walk up and say "Queen? Old man... Ha ha!" Fuck it... It's a great song.

Now that you have grown older, finding new music is too much of a chore, and all the stuff that is coming out these days sounds the same anyway, and who really wants to be listening to the same music the 20 year old who valet parks your car is rocking out to. So you've gained a new appreciation for some of the music of your youth. It has both comforting familiarity and a pleasing air of nostalgia. Plus, the fact that you can still hear it repeatedly on classic rock stations all across the nation means it has really passed the test of time.

Dammit. That was the first song that popped into my head as well.
Has anyone noticed (who doesn't Tivo everything) that Amex is using the Spinal Tap song "Gimme some money" in one of their ads? I am hoping that Bitch School makes it into an ad soon.

Sadly, I have found this not to be the case with Molly Hatchet.

For some reason, your posts today make me want to hug you or bring you cake. I am not sure why.

When they were together, they were silly and overdramatic. Now, they are high camp. Everybody with good taste loves high camp.
