Strangely enough, just a twelve pack and some tequila will.

XXX-DVDs a new hazard for drivers
(spree: CNN, so there's only so much nudity and nipplage. Includes reference to semi-famed "Chocolate Foam" incident)
Good thing the State Police are on the lookout for in-car porn, since they must not have anything better to do.

Accord. All you can eat buffets don't carry the same attraction if they cost $9.99 instead of the present $4.99.

Actually, i think she looks kinda good in that picture, in an uber-slutty, Christian Aguilera kind of way.
Of course, I have always been sort of drawn to slutty....

HA! Jon Peter was America's pick, and you all gave me such a hard time when I said I liked him. Just give up now--I am the only one who truly has my finger on America's pulse.
I was happy to see that all three of my picks went through. I would rather have had Suzy than Leah, but oh well.
Interesting sex makeup of the finalists--8 women and only 4 men. But I like 75% of the men and a much smaller percentage of the women.
Now the real fun begins.

Arrrrrgh! Not the Hobbit! This is either a case of Oscar carryover where people thought he was in LOTR:ROTK or BYU students hit redial for 2 hours straight (shades of last year with the blonde from Utah). Hearing him again on the show I decided I still hated his performance of that song.
I'm stunned George didn't get the viewer vote. He so deserved it more than Jon Peter. I think Suzy would be better than Leah as well, but predicted Paula would choose Leah over Suzy.

1. Agreed. Funny about the hobbit reference. This kid is Sean Astin. He is Rudy. A plucky kid clearly out-classed by the competition, surviving on a combination of grit and an absolute belief that he belongs there. We Americans do love a shaggy-dog story. How else do you explain the Willam Hung phenomenon?
Unfortunately, now he'll probably hang around in a Carmen Rasmussen fashion far past his sell-by date, until the field is narrowed and the majority of viewers cannot keep ignoring the talent gap and finally mercifully votes him off.
I agree the performance last night just brought home what a karaoke-night performance it really was. Look, it's not that I think the guy isn't talented at all, it's just that he really didn't show it the last two nights. There should be a constitutional amendment against people impersonating Elvis, end of story.
2. No kidding - I was too. I was also surprised that Simon rather than Paula made that pick, considering the way he ripped him from the beginning about not being "idol" material. FWIW, Suzy got robbed. Leah's singing last night really brought home to me how shrill she is. She's definitely singing too hard.
Does anyone know how the selections are made? I'd love to see what the voting for each of the contestants was. I'm guessing that the selection of "Rudy" threw a wrench into how Simon and Paula might have voted otherwise. I'm betting George probably came in second in the popular vote, and Simon had an easier time accepting that he might "sell". I think he's always been convinced that George was talented. This left Paula to pick among the two best women left after Randy picked Jennifer. If that's the case, Paula's pick of Leah isn't so surprising, because she usually goes more for image and presentation, knowing from personal experience of the wonders of studio tricks.

True, but the pic reminds me... I've never hooked up with a chick with rings in strange places. It appears that in the heat of passion, those things could be very fucking dangerous.

Cool! Thanks! I found it!
It was lying back there next to your discretion. I was going to grab it for you, but decided that maybe you left it there on purpose, and I didn't want to screw up your plans.

Fuck... that's the solution to the whole issue - a fat tax. Add a few cents to the cost of all gratuitously fat-laden snack foods. That would load the coffers of SS through the year 3000.
Of course, naturally fatty items such as brie, filet mignon, etc... would be exempted, as well as healthy fatty food, such as olive oil and avacados.
This would force the suplliers of fat-filled garbage like Kraft and Con Agra to use safer alternatives to partially hydrogenated oils.
The only problem is that this probably invites a tax on alcohol. But I have faith in the lobbying power of Big Booze. They've got way more clout on the Hill than Big Fat.

Is there a fat tax?

No. I was really thinking about your comment on the relative strength of the liquor and ag/food lobbies. I don't see the government subsidizing liquor production, or as much regulation on what goes "into" food, and certainly not much taxation, which would seem to indicate the opposite of what you say.
This is sounding too much like the PB, so I'll shut up now.

I think that what Sebatian is proposing is not really a fat tax, but is more aptly characterized as a white trash tax.
