And is your kayak one of those red plastic ones that we had in summer camp?

The difference is that you and wonk are different people making different choices about how to spend your hard-earned money. Until you spend most of your feeding the poor, stop pontificating about why your choices are morally superior to anyone else's.
Why do I love you so much lately?

Good lord. Why would I travel to West of Butt-fuck to have that special, once-or-twice-a-year dinner? I'm really no fan of woodchuck pate.

[drunkenness gene found in worms: "He and the other scientists dosed hundreds of thousands of worms with enough alcohol that they would be too drunk to drive legally."]

The image of a blotto worm behind the wheel just tickled me.

Was it the way I brought you to screaming multiple orgasms the other night?

Because you love vapid, overblown, moralistic speeches that miss the point entirely, too?

(Well, maybe with a $350 bottle of wine.)
I was thinking the same thing. I've eaten in Sidd's neighborhood quite a bit, and I think it would even be tough there (absent a really expensive wine or one hell of a tip). Around these parts, it would take a) more food than I'd ever really want (i.e., 2 appetizers, 2 salads, 2 soups, 2 entrees, 2 deserts) and a lot of high-end booze (cocktails, a couple of really good wines, cognac).

Maybe Sidd was talking about dinner with the stripper. With tipping, that could easily top $500.

Where the hell's your sense of humor?

Geez, people cannot even make a joke around here without the cranky pants types going on the attack.

Wouldn't surprise me if Sidd had to pay for it.

Try Gary Danko sometime. Well worth it (I know, Bilmore -- how could a $500 dinner be well worth it, if that's not something that you would spend your money on?).

I can recommend a good splurge restaurant in Paris, too. Plan to spend at least three hours eating a multicourse meal

My god, you're right -- I should be taking sense-of-humor lessons from you.

When I can pluck the pebble from the folds of Bilmore's wattle, I will be ready to leave here.....

You know, assjack, you've already (I suspect) realized that you missed the point of my post entirely and are just keeping up this pretense of what you wish I had said so you don't have to admit that you gave your standard "don't tread on me" speech one more time unnecessarily, so why put in the effort any more?

(Must be Friday.)

Confidential to Bilmore: Definitely order "la pātisserie a formé comme un singe." Take my word for it. Just watching a French waiter fall into a millstream from laughing is a good value at 13 Euros.
