Actually all three are tabbies -- stripes all over and the stripes on the forehead are the hallmarks. Aren't they littermates?

Yeah, Spittles is one as well. She is actually neither a calico nor a tortie, but she has those swirls. My cat pattern expertise ends here, I don';t know what that is called.

They are littermates. I believe Spanky found them orphaned (do we know the mother actually died? maybe she split). at four weeks. He suckled them personally and now they are the Robust Kitties we see in the photos. Its part of what I love about Spanky. The Spanky Mystique.

Of course, what is wrong about all this is that any single gal pushing forty with three cats is a washed up spinster. With Spanky,. he could still be a player. Or is. We havent determined, but the fact that it could go either way is just unfair.

Doesn't he live on acreage in the country? I think a woman pushing 40 can have several cats if she lives on acreage in the country.If you have animals with horns occasionally in your yard than you can own plural cats.

What if you do nothing to encourage them and, in fact, have dogs that will probably eat them if given the opportunity, and plural cats still hang out in your yard, occassionally having sex and/or flights under the house? Assume acrage is whatever a standard urban residential lot is (I think 50 x 100).

Paigow may have to rule on this one, but I believe as long as your head is being pulled in different directions by men, either literally or figuratively, you are not a washed up spinster.

I really don't know about types of cats. Squishy looks orange to me. But I am also red green colour blind so I am not really qualified to dicuss their colouration.

All three were in the same litter. I don't know if that is an issue with regards to whether they are tabbies or Calico. Their mother looked just like Sam. Squishy is female, Sam and Porkchop are male. Porkchop is much bigger and more muscular than the other two.

Porkchop runs away from any human but me. Sam growls at strangers (or anything alive for that matter - except Skunks) but if someone comes around enough Sam will stop hiding from them. Squishy will rub up against any human being. Some of my employees have never even seen Sam or Porkchop.

Their mother was a stray who hung out in the neighborhood when I lived in the Disney Cottages. One of my partners girl friends gave her the name of Mathilda. This "partner" was involved in the record label I worked at and he turned out to be a complete screw up. He was a producer at Epitaph and we brought him over to produce albums for our label. His house got repossessed by the bank so he moved in with me. He was in a pretty big band for years, and their warm up band for about six years was No Doubt. He looked down on No Doubt as a bunch of second rate lame musicians. He was also allergic to cats.

In order to get him to go to work I would let Mathilda in the house and crank Tragic Kingdom on the Stereo. One day when Mathilda was in the house she had kittens in my walk in closet. She was a really mean alley cat, who often got into fights. She would rip your hand off if you tried to pet her. She got into a bad fight when the kittens were four weeks old. I took her to the vet but she died on the operating table.

The Vet told me the kittens did not have a chance. But the owner of the local pet store taught me how to feed them with a syringe which had to be done every four hours. Total nightmare.

The house I live in now has two acres of land. Every house in the area has two acres. There are tons of dogs but if they tried to mess with these cats they would get hurt pretty badly. When they were not fully grown they messed up my neighbors doberman pretty badly. I had to pay a pretty big vet bill.

They kill everything in the yard including possums and squirells. It is animal aushwitz out there.

Tabby and Calico refers only to coloration and not to breed, but it makes sense that they are all tabbies if they are from the same litter. Also, I think almost all Calicos and Tortoiseshells are female; those that are male have an extra x-chromosome or something. Tabby cats are stripey, and you can tell a tabby by the M stripe on the head. I am pretty sure that Calico refers to cats with big orange and black discrete markings on a white base. Squishy's markings are too stripey and blended to be Calico, and she doesn't have enough white. Not that she's not perfectly cute. This is not the FB and I am not critiquing her appearance. I happen to LOVE little white socks on a cat like she has. Too cute. Plus, my brother has a Calico cat and she is gorgeous, but a complete raving bitch. On the bright side, however, she is not permitted to go outside and kill wildlife.

I have a Tabby cat myself. I'd send you a picture if I knew how.
