I don't think the point is that home-schooled kids are by default completely screwed up (although I bet the lack of real world socializing increases the percentages of wackjobs).
I think the point is that it is easier to turn your kids into complete psychos because you are able to limit their exposure to other ideas.

'Zactly.
[Though Penske might raise the argument that the VLWC (through AFT/NEA and the like) does the same thing within the Public School Systems.]
* [And if he wants to make that argument, I suggest not doing so here, lest the board rebel.]

How does that play out, if she's working with you and schooling the kids?

OTOH, perhaps you could expose them to more open and progressive ideas and teaching methods and materials if you are without the constraints of the institutional bureaucracy.

I think that's probably the case.

Urgent Halloween Help Needed
I need some good ideas for a husband/wife going to a costume party. They're pretty whitebread, so nothing too racy.
My suggestion of priest and young boy was soundly rejected.

Her husband is a stay-at-home Dad. She's also on flex time, so she's here four days a week and at home three days a week.
Today is her last day here. She's quit for another opportunity elsewhere. I'm going to miss her.

No. It would interfere with their TV and internet time.

But what if your "progressive ideas" are being directly contradicted by the schools? What if, for example, the schools are too ignorant to teach that evolution is directly disproved by the second law of thermodynamics?
Better to just keep the kids out of that corrupting environment altogether.

Most of my friends are fine upstanding Americans, like Halliburton executives, lobbyists, gun manufacturers, supreme court justices (and justices to be), Time Magazine reporters, and Patent Attorneys.
