If you aren't his subordinate, you can't be insubordinate to him.

When I read the first part of your post and looked at the 'before' picture, I fully expected that the vandalism was that someone changed the lower text to read "JUG LIFT".

But this is good too.

I think she meant Just For Fun, but I could be wrong.

Sort of. A Google search for "kept my countenance" turned up a bunch of hits, all 19th Century, and all in cases where the speaker, in reaction to the words or actions of another, was avoiding changing facial expression for tactical reasons. Since this is an internet board, not a cocktail party (much as it sometimes seems to be), and we weren't able to see that dtb had theretofore been keeping a straight face, using "countenance" as a noun seemed somewhat out of place.

I think dtb's been reading too much Austen lately.

The Economics of Ecstasy

A Ph.D. candidate in the Economics Department at the University of Texas at Austin has written a scholarly paper on the probability of someone faking it, according to an "An Empirical Model of Love-Making."*

* Yes, there is math involved.

I don't have time to read your "papers" (whatever that means and I think I do know what that means). But I do know the statistical likelihood that a woman who has had sexual intercourse at least once in her life has faked it. The answer is all of them. Ain't no one be needing no PhD to be figuring dat out.*

*written in ebonics for those whose SAT scores would have been better if only the SAT questions were worded in a more culturally welcoming manner

A Question for the Women in San Francisco

Did Burberry decide to drop-ship scarves to every woman in selected San Franciso ZIP codes? Every third woman I've seen this week has been wearing one.
