Agreed, I wish I had had that weapon in college...

If you watch closely a few minutes later, you can also see a copy of Birds of the West Indies, by Commander James Bond (no relation).*
* Now published under a slightly different name.

The game is still on.
One Cat 1, three Cat 2 climbs tomorrow, Alpe d'Huez against the clock Wednesday, three Cat 1 climbs plus the Col de la Madelaine on Thursday, another time trial Saturday.
Anyone who says Armstrong is a shoo-in is on crack. Ullrich says he'll work for Kloden if he's stronger. Basso has a strong team. It's not over yet.
It's going to be a good week.

Agreed. It's not over until Paris. Still, in my views, the remaining stages play into Lance's strengths (including his unique masochistic abilities).

My two-cents' worth is that I don't like my tip bumping into anything when I'm gettin' all up in there. Which can happen. (Though I'm not sure if it's an IUD or a diaphragm that leads to this unpleasant sensation).

Hm. so you are just long enough to hit a diaphragm, but not long enough to reach the cervix.

Well, in that they're mountains. But none has a mountain top finish, except for the TT. So it's altogther possible that he'll finish each stage with each of his top rivals, if they can keep up. I don't see Basso, Kloeden or Voeckler beating him up Alpe D'Huez, though, or taking any serious time in the regular TT. So he should be able to win, as long as he doesn't pull another joux-plane bonk up the madeleine.

I don't know what this means. While GWNC was in health class, I was hanging out in the ravine.
Yes, that ravine.
Str(ahh, who am I kidding, I wasn't cool enough to hang out in the ravine)8

Austin City Limits Alert
Josh Rouse will be playing at ACL. He played great shows Friday and Saturday nights at Cafe du Nord here in San Francisco this past weekend. People attending ACL should check out his set. Music lovers on the board should buy his albums 1972, Under Cold Blue Stars, Dressed Up Like Nebraska, and Home. You could be civic-minded and use the Amazon link.
You could also buy the latest album The Slow Wonder from lead New Pornographer* Carl Newman. It's also worth the money.
Franz Ferdinand is very good live and also should be seen by ACLers. We've covered this, and those who resist only have themselves to blame.
* The official band of the FB
