Oh, don't be so sensitive. New blood is fine. But who wants to wade through their first 1,000 posts of stuff like, "I'm over here enjoying my vodka. Was that Wonk pinching my ass?" I'm just asking that they contribute something worth reading. (If they really are new and not a sock. Hell, even if they are a sock.) At least now, with oh no, we can see she has a spine and half an ounce of wit (even if it all relates back to that wonderful weekend she spent with Strunk and White -- eager , little beaver indeed).

You don't have to actually reply to every post that references you or replies to a post of yours. If you wait for TM to stop, this fight will never end. He has been known to go for weeks on an argument about a particular baseball play, for instance.
I think that was mainly TM's point yesterday and Hank's point today, anyway. The cocktail party thing was, for the most part, lame. And by replying to every post on the theme, you helped carry it to dead horseville.
But, by all means, carry on with the flamewar if that suits your mood. I have work to do anyway. |

Scroll by them. Those first 1000 posts can't be any more bereft of worthwhile content than Fringey's 10,000 posts and you survive the pro rata allocation of those on a daily basis.
