Yes, but by using the word "again," you implied that I was feeding another troll and agreeing that the first one I fed was, in fact, a troll.

(I once cross examined a Boston Police Officer who told me that to his knowledge, March 17th was not a holiday. The judge, who was well-known as a drunk (and had a Mc at the beginning of his name) snorted heartily.)

Wow, he must not have been a local. They all know that Mar. 17th is evacuation day, at least in Suffolk County, allowing everyone to celebrate the withdrawal of British troops from Boston. With several pints of green beer.

At the risk of piling on, ppnyc, I would say that you often mention a a product's brand rather its cut, quality, style, etc. This may be because you like to dash off posts, but in doing so you risk leaving the impression that what you care about is brand and not the other attributes.

I think you're right, but my Bible doesn't translate the footnotes from the ancient Aramaic, so it's hard to be sure. I submit, however, that most of the people wearing those green hats have never been to Ft. Myers, let alone the St. Patrick's Day parade.

I have oft stated I am not into trolling [ha!] Bergdorf's or Barneys or Saks for high high end things. That isn't really my thing....spending 500 on a single item leaves me cold. I don't like Manolos or Jimmy choo's I think that's a lot to pay for shoes...not practical......So what gives? I'm reasonable in my materialistic pursuits. Is it better than the usual Dress Barn polyester clad para? sure.

What is really that simple? What are you talking about?

- During a May 22, 1948, broadcast of his national radio show Truth or Consequences, Ralph Edwards interviewed a young cancer patient in Boston who loved baseball and dreamed of having a television to watch his favorite team, the Boston Braves, then the city's National League ball club. At the end of the broadcast, Edwards asked listeners from his studio in Hollywood to donate money for cancer research, as well as to buy a TV for the boy, whom he called "Jimmy" to protect his privacy. "Let's make Jimmy and thousands of other boys and girls happy who are suffering from cancer by aiding the research to help find a cure for cancer in children," Edwards said on the show. By the end of the week, $20,000 in donations were made to "Jimmy" and the fund was born. It was the Braves' favored charity until their move in 1953 to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and since then, the Jimmy Fund has been picked up by the Boston Red Sox.

Ebay Etiquette
Isn't it typical for the seller to post feedback after payment has been received, and the buyer to post feedback after the item has been received? Because I just bought something and received an e-mail saying they will post feedback only after I post feedback, which struck me as odd. And when they signed the e-mail with two women's names, they made sure to point out that they are mother and daughter, lest I think they might be (GASP!) lesbians.
What's up with that? Now I'm just kind of rubbed the wrong way to start my day, and really, I'd rather not be grouchy.

Hank went to the parties at Pennypacker, but he went to classes at the Longy School of Music. To this day, when people ask him where he went to college, he likes to smile knowingly and say, "Cambridge."

You've made it everyone's business by the constant press releases. You don't like the comment? Then keep it to yourself.
And I assume you don't actually mean "expenses," but rather mean "fixed and unavoidable household expenses," as opposed to "my pretending I'm in an income tax bracket a couple notches up expenses," but perhaps you do. You might also consider savings.
And not social-climbing? Please. No one drops names like that who isn't trying to prove something.

My point was about how you post, not about how you shop.

By god, a positive one!
Another installment from Lessons Learned by RT So You Don't Have To
If you're throwing a party and have no real clue whether or not you're entertaining 100 or 300 people in K-Swiss, leotards, cut off sweat shirts, braided headbands, leg warmers and weight belts (the Hanz and Franz guys were particularly inspired), Twinkies are excellent food items to serve your guests. They're individually wrapped, easy to eat, and go well with the drink (titled "Richard Simmons was a Fruit" and consisting of grapefruit juice, cranberry juice, vodka and tripple sec).
The Ho-Hos were actually better, but not quite as universally revered. A lengthy discussion with a caterer about whether or not Ho-Hos would do well with a raspberry reduction sauce probably sent at least three people to their kitchens for experimentation.
The only real shocker was that my dad apparently had never heard of a Twinkie before. He was fairly quickly educated on the matter and approved wholeheartedly once he had one. Or two. Or maybe five.
