I was watching "I Love the Eighties" on VH-1, and one of their trenchant commentators (Hal Sparks or Apollonia, I forget who) noted that "Sixteen Candles" could never be made today because of the character of Long Duk Dong. "No more yankie my wankie"? That might make it into a Parker/Stone or Farrelly Bros. movie, but not a mainstream teen comedy.
