My father pays for it. I think it's worth it, since I pay nothing for it and he e-mails the op-eds to me.

If you "share" an account, then it def. is worth it.
For the NYers: Does anyone have a link to the suicide jumper @ Fordham last night? I would like to verify why my train was 45 minutes delayed. Cannot find it anywhere. Is the story bs?

Like I said, I don't think they make mine anymore, even though it's only like 2 years old.* But I like it a lot and it has a chargeable battery in the camera that, once fully charged, lasts forever and doesn't take long to recharge.
The only issue I have with it is that the viewing screen is too small and dark. Otherwise, it's great and it has video (length of video, as well as the number of photos, of course, depends on size of memory card you buy).
I'm sure the newer cybershots are just as good, if not much better. In fact, it looks like they fixed the screen size issue.

Yet another world sport lacking fair play . . .

NEW YORK -- On Thursday, competitive eating made a lot of progress in proving that it is indeed a sport. Like the NFL, NHL and NBA, it apparently needs instant replay.
Takeru Kobayashi, center, won the title with 50½ hot dogs, while Eric Booker, right, finished second with 26.
Japanese professional speed-eater Takeru "The Tsunami" Kobayashi destroyed the competition for the second consecutive year at the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July international hot dog eating contest, scarfing down 50½ hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes.
|
These are last year's results. He ate 53 1/2 hot dogs this year and the second place finisher, a newcomer, ate 50.

I tried it with a second photo and now it tells me I look like Jane Fonda, Nicole Kidman, Lucy Liu (?) and Jude Law. Hmm. So this software appears to be a crock of shit time-waster.

Shiri Appleby
It looks like it isolates individual features and matches them instead of trying to find the best match of all features. They seem to concentrate most on the type of smile you have in whatever photo you submit.

Where did you fall on the Swarthiness Index? This seems to have you somewhere between Sam Cooke and Howard Dean.

If it's seven minutes long, then by definition, it's too long.
Note to GWNC: Happily, the Trader Joes by my house has uncovered a large shipment of commas from Sierra Leone and I was able to acquire literally hundreds at pennies on the dollar. Sure, they're "blood commas," but good breeding and professional pride require that good grammar take precedence over exploitation of warring native factions.

It's all about level of smile (or lack thereof). Third photo:
50 Cent
Cuba Gooding Jr.
Enrique Eglesias
Michael Jordan
Nicholas Cage
Magic Johnson
Jim Morrison
Wu Yi
But, it seems to me that sometimes it is accurate, since most people tell me I'm a mix between Brad Pitt, Michael Jordan and Halle Berry.

I'm sorry, that violates firm policy. Please see ____ regarding such conflict as it involves rough goods from Sierra Leone and possibly Mynamar.
I have a recurring silly fluffy daliance of a fantasy of unionizing legal workers. That would be interesting....no?

Yuk it up while you can. I could put on eyeliner, lip gloss and tie my greasy hair up in little pink bows, but none of that would change the fact that Str8 has picked France to win and thereby sealed your fate.

I have little idea what you mean by "silly fluffy daliance of a fantasy." That aside, the county attorneys and public defenders in Minnesota are unionized.

Lumix

For $200 you'd get excellent picture quality, ease of use, and video in a camera you could fit in your pocket, plus the dock is very convenient. It wouldn't break your heart to drop it and replace it at Costco.
If you wanted to spend a bit more for a camera with which you would be more careful (tsk tsk), you could get a small Panasonic Lumix. My brother and I each have one of the larger ones and they're outstanding; I understand the compact one is just as good.
Oh, oh, oh -- neither one has annoying "shutter" lag, like I have experienced with Canons and Nikons.
|
Another good reason to love the Lumix is that they have a shutter mechanism designed in conjunction with Leica and optics that are built by Zeiss.
Nikon is a wonderful brand, and for a digital or film SLR, there's no other brand I'd even consider, but at the low end Nikon has a real problem with shutter lag that I found made my Nikon digital point and shoot virtually worthless for much other than taking pictures of outdoor statues and sculpture.

I am neither a county attorney nor a public defender. Maybe.
