My favorite thing about it there, though, was the messages my vet used to leave on my answering machine. "Uh, yes, Mrs. Brazen, this is Dr. Animal Guy from Adobe Animal Hospital. I'm calling about Lady (Or any of our other dogs' names) the dog."

As if we also shared our house with Lady the cat, Lady the cockatoo, Lady the bunny, Lady the ferret and Lady the goldfish.

For the record, Lady is a pseudonym. Not that any of my dogs' names are any better, mind you, but each dog came pre-named and I felt bad about making them learn a new one.
On the subject of the Adobe Animal Hospital, did you see the article in the New York Times today about the mountain lion problem in Atherton? Those bozos. This area (Spankyland) has had many more sightings (and even incidents), the property values are pretty much the same here, but you don't see any complaints here. You rarely see deer in Atherton, but they are everywhere here. You need to live in the hills to really get the full animal kingdom experience.

I was just informed that I know who Stolen Fork is. I know both characters involved (this is definitely a first), unfortunately, I do not know why there is bad blood. I met Stolen Fork on a few occasions and she always seemed pretty rational and charming (that includes when drinking). She always was very nice to me. When I met Paigow she had been drinking but she also seemed prettly level headed and affable. I can't imagine why there is bad blood.

For once I will actually be able to follow the gossip on this board.

Is it just me, or does sugar-free tonic water taste sweeter than regular tonic water?

In line with the puppy etc. conversations, I had a dream the other night that I had to slaughter and eat two pets, one of which was my fairly recently deceased cat. Oddly, the meat from the cat looked just like a chunk of roast chicken breast I have in the refrigerator. Anyway, it was upsetting, but I ate it anyway. It was his time.

fwiw, I was not serbian in the dream.

I didn't even know sugar free tonic water exists. I generally avoid anything this is sugar free, fat free or part of a diet plan. I will have to check this out.

Okay, well if Stolen Fork is in fact Silicon Implants then I know her too. I think she did better in one of the law school classes that we took together than I did, but since I got the book award in the other class we took together, I'm pretty sure I did better than she. And she's always been pretty nice to me too.

I had a dream that a bunch of school teachers in old-fashioned graduation-type gowns were beating a toddler with batons because the toddler wouldn't follow instructions. And I yelled at the head school teacher and told him it didn't make him important or powerful to beat up a two-year-old.

I was also not serbian in the dream.

I have gotten too used to diet drinks, and now the ones with sugar seem to leave a coating on my teeth, and I don't like it. plus, sugary drinks seem to cause worse hangovers.

Connections impress you?

AON, maybe you should date her. Power couple, and all that.

Many people that drink diet drinks have told me that. I have just never got used to the taste. But I have a sweet tooth. I find semi-sweet chocolate lame. I prefer milk chocolate.

What does semi-sweet chocolate have to do with anything?

Just demonstrating that I generally prefer things sweeter than most people do. That may be why I have never been able to get used to diet drinks.
