Lego puts theme parks on the block
Struggling toy maker to refocus on its 'classic construction toys' (like erector sets?)
Struggling Danish toy maker Lego Systems, known for its colored plastic bricks, is putting its Legoland theme parks on the block.
OK, another story. I know a guy who is 27-28ish (hi Brian!) who has an entire Lego set up (not unlike the picture) and a very large collection of Star Wars action figures in his room. And he can't figure out why when he brings girls home, that they:
a) don't stay
b) never come back
c) won't return phone calls
I guess it could be worse, he could be living at home, but no amount of humiliation about the "toy collection" will get him to put them at least out of sight.
LEGOLAND

I hate to be mean, but your friend Brian could stand to lose a little weight. The black suit is only so slenderizing.

And yet he does well with the ladies - the first time.
Actually Brian's a nice guy, sort of cute in a mussy puppy dog way - just way too attached to the toys.

SO are most of the women on this board. I view that as a positive.

But some toys are alright, right?
The 62" screen and the red Porsche won't turn you off, will they?
How about the whole house audio and video system? I know Paris is a fan.

I was in a discussion with several recently broken up people who were bemoaning the loss of toys in the breakups. I sympathized more with the women than with the men.
I'm pretty selfish with my toys, and I don't think I'd really be that interested in playing with someone else's.
What the fuck does a guy need a used rabbit for?
At any rate, the dogs and the vibrators are in the prenup.

I'm not a big fan of the whole house system. I prefer separate systems. We have 3. 4 if you count the XM in the bathroom.
Speaking of, I saw a really cool wireless setup the other day and I can't remember who was having trouble running wires in the walls. This system would run any source and was tied to separate amps through a wireless network see here and it's really really cool. I suppose I should have put this on the Tech board, but whatever. It's set up a little like an IPOD, as far as ergonomics, and the response time on the radio frequency remote is very quick.

Before I go to the trouble of running wires through my house, how does this work?

That's just weird. Some things just aren't in the pot to be divided. Like clothes and makeup and vibrators.

I'll give you the short pitch here, longer pitch on Tech board if you'd like...
Sonos is the first and only digital music system that lets you play all your digital music, all over your house—and control it all from the palm of your hand. Best of all, you don't need a PC in every room, a music server or a wireless network. Just a SonosTM ZonePlayer and speakers in the rooms of your choice and a SonosTM Controller in hand to access all your digital music, no matter where it's stored—on your PC, Mac or Network Attached Storage box.
Sonos puts the control of all your music and all your rooms in the palm of your hand. With the Sonos wireless, handheld controller and SonosnetTM, our secure, wireless mesh network, you can instantly access your entire music collection from anywhere. No more running back and forth to your PC every time you want to turn on, change or turn off your music. No more pointing or line of sight requirements. Just freedom of movement and freedom of music.
The remote displays Title of Disc, Song and cover art if you've downloaded it.

Someone on the Boston Craig's List recently asked what women would think if a new-to-her guy pulled out a not-new vibrator. I can't imagine how this could be done without seeming skeevy.

Coincidentally, I spoke to him today for the first time in a week or so. On top of his other troubles he quit smoking as of April 1, and he told me he is going through serious withdrawal symptoms.
I didn't ask any questions I wasn't sure I wanted answers to, but I am certain he is headed for a total and complete nervous breakdown any minute. He will no doubt be discovered placing telephone bets from a crackhouse, with two cigarettes in his mouth and Thurgreed's Momma working on his knob in the hope of snagging his last two dollars. And those two dollars are mine, dammit.

There is one unit that is great. I am not currently using it so I can send it to you if you like. It is full bandwidth, not the FM level crap that some of them are.
I have now switched to the AirportExpress given my new overpriced apartment surroundings rather than underpriced house surroundings.
