Wouldn't This Have Been A Better Headline?

Crack was found today in the foam insulation of space shuttle Discovery's external fuel tank as NASA prepared to move the shuttle to the launch pad. After an inspection, engineers determined the crack was a "minor imperfection" and gave a "go" for rollout, NASA TV reported.

I didn't ask any questions I wasn't sure I wanted answers to, but I am certain he is headed for a total and complete nervous breakdown any minute. He will no doubt be discovered placing telephone bets from a crackhouse, with two cigarettes in his mouth and Thurgreed's Momma working on his knob in the hope of snagging his last two dollars. And those two dollars are mine, dammit.

Did they figure out who left their stash there?

She got around the blowing by having one of her "friends" who was not as drunk blow into the thing. Also, it encourages people to leave the car running when they go somewhere. She had left her car running at a 7-11 while she ran in to get beer and was met in the parking lot by a guy trying to steal her car who hit her in the hand with one of her own golf clubs. He was unsuccessful.
All moot now that she totalled the car and is safely in jail.
Is this your friend?

I know you all in the TCOTU don't get worked up about these things, but is it not slightly disconcerting to you that Mariano Rivera has blown a save in his last four appearances against the Red Sox?*

*yeah, I know he had a garbage bit of work in Game 7 that I'm not counting.

Is there any way we could fix the software so that I can preemptively put all future responses to the Burger baseball post on ignore? I'm even willing to ignore this masterpiece of a post if necessary. TIA!

SPEAKING OF WHICH:

I'd be remiss if I didn't recommend the latest Project Greenlight. We're three episodes in thus far, and they've been unbelievable.

Their mandate this year is to produce a genre film that makes money. They're working with Dimension (aka Bob Weinstein's company), and Bob Weinstein's right hand man is very tough.

[SPOILER]

They picked the script that Dimension wanted to do (over the Project Greenlight guys' objections) -- a horror piece called "Feast."

They then picked a nebbishy 40-ish director, after fierce lobbying by Matt, Ben and Chris, who was completely inarticulate in his pitch, but they liked his shorts that he submitted. He's now demanding to cast his family members and girlfriend in four of the leading roles, even threatening to fly to New York to argue their case before Bob Weinstein. He refuses to consider other actors for the role. They showed Henry Rollins testing for one of them. They're stuck with a complete nut job who's used to making his own short indie projects and not having to explain himself to a crew or backers, and who happens to live in my neighborhood.

Great show. Great great show.

Hmm. Maybe if I entered a baseball pool, I would not find the sport so godawful boring. Or I would find it even more boring because of the need to wait through 9 fucking endless innings to find out whether or not I won. Not sure.

I do enjoy moundball, however.

ncs--you might want to clarify, so str8 doesn't drive you nuts with his 80s Blue Jays posts too.

I hesitate to ask what this is. But it sounds like it could be fun.

Who on earth would ever, ever think that this was a good idea?
