PacMan
Pac Man is almost as old as Coltrane.
Pac-Man turns 25,
chomp chomping away
It all began in Japan, when Toru Iwatani, a young designer at Namco, caught inspiration from a pizza that was missing a slice. Puck-Man, as it was originally called, was born. Because of obvious similarities to a certain four-letter profanity, "Puck" became "Pac" when it debuted in the U.S. in 1980.
Billy Williams, the first and only person known to play a perfect game of Pac-Man (he racked up a score of 3,333,360 after clearing all 256 levels in more than six hours in 1999, according to video game record keepers Twin Galaxies) says Pac's popularity was in its nonviolent simplicity.
6 hours of Pac Man - are you kidding me? Now Centipede or Missle Command - that I could do.

Louis XIV
Louis XIV's record isn't bad. T Rex + the Strokes. But if you want to hear a really fantastic record, you've gotta get the 22-20s. Oh, and if you haven't spun the Black Keys, try them out as well. Gritty, groovy shit.
Lately, I've been listening to the Stooges' Fun House. I forgot how fucking great the first three Stooges's records were. The bass in those things is killer. Its like John Entwhistle, only with some soul.

They're hot, they're fun, they're feisty.
And they have no idea what the fuck they're talking about.
Somebody wrote an article in the Time a year ago about a conservative movement at my university (which I found funny because my universaity was already rather conservative, but thats the Times - generalizations = facts). They interviewd a bunch of moderately attractive kids who were blathering about Reagan and Buckley. The kids were making all sorts of comments about economic policy and global politics which were culled almost verbatim from [insert Heritage Foundation publication here]. I recall thinking "This is why you should stick to chasing tail and getting twisted in college. You have absolutely no business discussing anything of substance because you know nothing." I used to lament never doing anything but feeding my self gratification monster through college. But when I read the shiite these kids puked up as though they were experts, I was glad the only movement I got anywhere near in college was one done above a toilet bowl.
If you're an arch conservative in college, you've really missed the point, and the fun, of the exercise...

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Suspended Florida State quarterback Wyatt Sexton was doused by pepper spray and taken to a hospital by police after he was found lying in the street and identifying himself as God.
An incident report by Tallahassee police officer Zachary Lyne said he was called to a residential neighborhood about reports of a man doing push-ups in the street and jumping on a car.
Lyne said he found Sexton in the middle of the road wearing only a wet pair of shorts. The officer asked Sexton several times to identify himself, and eventually he said he was God.
Sexton later got on his hands and knees, yelled obscenities at the officer and stared at him. He was doused with pepper spray and handcuffed, and identified himself as Sexton.
Police said Sexton “appeared to be under the influence of some unknown narcotic or alcohol.” Hospital officials said they didn’t have any information on him.
Police said Sexton’s roommates told them he had been at a Dave Matthews Band concert in Tennessee with them earlier Monday. They said he had been stressed out over trying to win the starting quarterback job.
I have not had alcohol have this effect on me. Sounds more like he snapped than drugs, though. Just my opinion.

Yet another reason in a long list of them to avoid DMB concerts.

Dissent with the implication that they got bad after that. Although I agree that they were different with Shemp, the Stooges still put some quality stuff out.
When Joe and then Curly Joe DeRita came into the picture, though, they sucked.
