½ oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 tsp sugar syrup
2 oz Midori liqueur
Frozen maraschino cherry
INSTRUCTIONS: Pour lemon juice, sugar syrup and Midori over ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake it like a Polaroid picture, then strain into a chilled martini or cordial glass. Garnish with cherry.

Worse news: it's a chick drink with a frozen cherry.

the Stones license their music to commercials.....getting knighted isn't Mick selling out, he's sold.
Plus, I think their are benefits to being knighted that are good. Its not just a photo-op of the queen hitting you with a sword.

Food & Fat

Don't waste your calories on margarine. Odd thing about French food, French people aren't the ones who are fat and have heart disease -- unless they spend their time at McD's eating Le Big Mac or a Royale with cheese.

Actually, the legend that French people don't die of heart disease is exactly that. Its the result of the fact that for years French coroners and medical examiners did not bother to determine the cause of death for mid-to-older aged people who died suddenly. They'd just list "natural causes."
I never order dessert anywhere. I'm an appetizer junkie. I sometimes order four or five appetizers instead of a meal. Its kinda like doing a tapas joint. I'm terribly indecisive and this ensures I get a little bit of everything I want.
I don't think I've eaten a baked good other than bread in years. I don't know why, but I just don't like pastiry or cookies of any sort.

Wine and Food

Especially when they sense that their patron doesn't know too much.
|
That's why I qualified it by saying it depends on the wine director and chef. You have to know if your restaurant is about making good pairings or pushing crappy wine. A restaurant that builds it's reputation on this (i.e. the late Windows on the World's Cellar in the Sky, RIP) may not serve the most expensive wines, but they'll be good ones that fit the food.
Also, if you have a planned pairing, you don't know whether your customers are going to be wine savvy or not. It's different than a waiter who can push schlock on unknowledgeable customers.
That being said, I don't know the restaurant Sidd mentioned so maybe he's right about that one.

It is quite nice there. I've been enjoying it ever since I pleaded with people to just ignore the fucker and hopefully she'll go away. Hasn't worked yet.

Just so long as it blends with the paisley border. The sofa's so gaudy... I just don't know how you can deal with being bent over the arm and have that horrible flowered fabric facing you in the eye all the time.
I got a bunch of ceramic angels. Gotta have those.
Did you get the amyl nitrates?

Mr Man and I do this a lot. Changes any restaurant into a tapas joint. Works well with many kinds of food.
And I typically don't overeat this way, so after-dinner (and -drink) activities are not hampered.

Jingle Bells
A secretary is wearing earings that are big dangling jingle bells, with functional bells. I hope that she has done so in the holiday spirit and that this is not (a) a fashion trend or (b) something her boss makes her wear so he knows where she is. While I was chatting with her, I could not help but think of what the bells would sound like if she was providing oral sex.

AMM: How did you know what I'm wearing? That's so weird. I guess I will have to visit the local Abercrombie and "spice" up my wardrobe with some plaid and perhaps an offensive t-shirt or two.
Edited to add: Sebby, thanks for not making me feel like the prole I am.

Oh, damn. Is this going to call into question the whole "drink two bottles of red wine every day for your heart" too? 'Cuz that's going to drastically change my lifestyle.

I love it. You too. Amazing how if it's anti-Yankees, you eat that shit up. If it's pro-Yankees, it is evil and not to be trusted, full of lies and mostly made up.
You had no problem when I blamed Steinbrenner and Cashman for losing Pettitte. But when I read something about what Cashman said he did and I no longer place all the blame on Cashman and George, you come up with this.
Yankee fans may be arrogant, but you Sox fans are like rabid, brain-washed freaks.
