And you are right--smell of hay can't be beat.

Blue Mercury is where I got mine (Spring Flowers). I got it at the store in Georgetown, but I think the store in Dupont also carries them.

Who is your avatar?
I suppose I should have PMed this question. I suspect others may be edified by the answer though so I did not.

She is Ami, a cast member of the current season of Survivor (and a lesbian, to boot). You totally want her, don't you?
eta: Less totally wants her too -- maybe y'all can arrange a threesome!

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

I think that takes it out of the "children's film" range a little bit and acknowledges that it's intended for a little bit of an older audience. The only scene I've seen is the "Mr. Incredible putting on his belt" trailer, which I thought was one of the funniest 30 seconds of film I've ever seen. While I'm sure that kids will find it funny, I think it resonates with adults better.
I'm looking forward to it.

That trailer is on the Finding Nemo DVD (which I've seen approximately 78,993 times, give or take...), and my biggest boy calls me in the room every time it comes on.
In the morning, my son sometimes needs help with the button on his school pants (he can do the hook/eye thing, or a snap, but has trouble with the button), and we have to tell him to suck in his stomach. He loves it when we tell him that, because he says he's like Mr. Incredible. In fact, this morning, my husband was helping him with the button, and as he was sucking in his stomach, I heard him say, "No gut, no glory!"
A proud moment, indeed.

I think Kid's films have long had a dark side. Cf. Snow White. Bambi. Sourcerer's Apprentice.
But then, so have kid's stories. Cf., e.g., Grimm.
So the question for me is, do we want kids' films to suddenly start being lighter.
HELL YEAH (Hi, Abba)!!!!!

I think that when your kids' school puts on Little Red Riding Hood, the ending should be changed so that we find out that the reason the wolf did all the bad things was because he had thorn in his paw that made him cranky, and someone removes the thorn and lets him go free.

This was the theme last night of Desperate Housewives. The dumpy blonde was fighting the bastardization of children's stories by getting high on Aderall and sewing all night. In other news, the Latina is still pretty hot. What's Teri Hatcher's deal? Where is her baby's daddy? Also, the redhead looked pretty good in her lingerie and fur. Her hsuband is obviously gay.
Fuck, that bitch with the cornered pussy beat me.

As I recall, it's a PG-rated film. I think the filmakers' choices are pretty clearly expressed -- they're expanding the base of who their films are for -- though I haven't seen this one yet, it sounds like this is one for some, but not all, kids.
