Grasshopper, you're now learning that making a deal with the rocket is like making a deal with the devil. Ask someone from Boston and he'll tell you how upstanding and honest a person Roger is.

Two FBisms I am tired of
(1) The use of "grasshopper"
(2) inserting "(hi [name of FB'er]!)" in a sentence.
That's it.

The only thing that gets my goat is that by talking the Yankees out of offering him arbitration "just in case" - he prevented the Yankees from getting compensatory draft picks from the Astros. That is a dick move.
Otherwise, I (and Thurgreed, I'm sure) stand by this assessment:
2003:
Mussina, Pettite, Clemens, Wells, Weaver
2004:
Mussina, Vasquez, Brown, Contreres, Lieber.
But for Mussina, we've gotten better at every spot in the rotation. And but for Lieber, we've gotten a lot younger, too.

Brown might be better than Clemens, except that he can't pitch when he's injured. I'll buy you a beer next fall if he wins 17 games. (Hell, I'll buy you a beer anyway, but you'll have to come here to get it.) And if Contreras was better than Pettitte or Wells, he'd have been pitching last year.

Since the enactment of the spam law, the quality of my spam has gone down markedly. I used to get e-mails titled "Barnyard fun!" and "Russian rape porn!" and "Christian debt counseling!" This morning, I got one entitled "Diarrhea? Constipation? We can help!" I blame Congress.

do the yankees serve some special beer that made you think Roger wouldn't dick them like any of the other teams he's played for?

Hi Burger! I have actually toured that brewery. Pretty good beer.
But that's grasshopper with an umlaut. So I'm not tired of it yet. If everyone would add umlauts to their hi [FBer]!s, I would not be tired of that.

Of course you're disappointed. Sending you meds to get your bathroom cycles in order is sending coals to Newcastle.

Apparently, we're nearing the top of Mazlow's pyramid, because the world spent $3.5 billion-with-a-b on cell phone ring tones last year.
This is not surprising. What's surprising is that the amount spent on ring tones constituted about 10 percent of the $32.2 billion global music market, surpassing even "Hey Ya" in overall market share. Yahoo linky.

For some mysterious reason, I never got spam from the beastiality porn websites, etc. I can't imagine why not. Mostly I seem to get spammed by the NYBA, these days. That, and the places I did christmas shopping online. I have noticed no decrease in spam-levels at all. If anything, I have been getting more (since anyplace I've shopped inthe last 2 years now considers itself in a safe haven, I guess).

I notice your blatant omission of Vasquez from the discussion.
Contreras was a lot better than Fatty down the stretch. Go check the stats.
Which bet do you want? Total victories Vasquez/Brown versus Pettite/Clemens or Lower ERA?

Will this board allow you to use umlauts?
How about tildes?
Just wondering.
