You are 100% right, this is exactly what I was doing. Atticus's little encyclopedia link was quite enlightening on this subject.

This entire topic has been enlightening today.

I usually discuss my theology questions with the OM, raised in a fundamentalist church sometimes considered to be a cult, and my uncle, a former Catholic priest (as my mother always notes: "a teaching priest! not a parish priest! a teaching priest!"), who left to marry my aunt in the late 1960s.

The two of them sit together for hours discussing biblical minutiae and belief structure of their respective religions.

So, this is exactly like our family weekends, except there is no beach and no sangria.

I'm guessing that you're not this woman, then.

In a 2002 story, News of the Weird mentioned Cuba's Guinness-Book-record milk-producing cow, Ubre Blanca. In April 2003, a German newspaper profiled Susan Schulze, 31, of Leipzig, who the paper said was the country's most prolific milk-producing human, having provided 50 gallons of her breast milk (collected in four to six daily sessions for more than a year) to a children's clinic at the University of Magdeburg. Shocker -- 95% of Opinions Withheld on Visit to Family

http://www.theonion.com/onion3923/95..._opinions.html

[spree - it's just the story of my life is all, with names (and genders) changed to protect the innocent]

the best line is --

"Once you let go of the need to express your thoughts to your family, you suddenly feel much lighter," Wilmot said. "You just float along blissfully, finally liberated from the burden of having any presence at all. It's sort of like getting to return to the womb. Which is way more enjoyable than trying to explain to a tableful of Celine Dion fans why you can't stand her."

The number of the beast

Did anyone notice that a lot of religious posts were on page 666?
(Of course you all may have different pages, but mine was 666).

Who did that album "667 - the neighbour of the beast"? Or did I dream that up?

edited to add that apparently a lot of people noticed. - I should have read all the posts.

I did notice. I have also noticed we are a handful of posts away from 10,000 posts in this thread.

Revelations Chap 13:

13:11 I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke like a dragon.

13:12 He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. He makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed.

13:13 He performs great signs, even making fire come down out of the sky to the earth in the sight of people.

13:14 He deceives my own people who dwell on the earth because of the signs he was granted to do in front of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast who had the sword wound and lived.

13:15 It was given to him to give breath to it, to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as wouldn't worship the image of the beast to be killed.

13:16 He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given marks on their right hands, or on their foreheads;

13:17 and that no one would be able to buy or to sell, unless he has that mark, the name of the beast or the number of his name.

13:18 Here is wisdom. He who has understanding, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is six hundred sixty-six.

S(if that ain't psilocybin induced gibberish, nothin' is)D
