Perhaps most famously, there was Maude's abortion in 1972 (an "oops" pregnancy at age 45 or so), but it's hard to say that the treatment of the abortion issue was blasé when it occurred in a two-parter dedicated to a storyline that was expressly designed to spark controversy (it was the year before the Supreme Court decided Roe).
Maude, you may recall, was a spin-off from All in the Family, and Good Times was a spin-off from Maude. All in the Family would have topped the list in number of sitcom spin-offs ( Maude, Good Times, The Jeffersons, Archie Bunker's Place, Checking In, Gloria, and 704 Hauser) had it not regrettably been surpassed by Happy Days ( Blansky's Beauties, Mork and Mindy, Out of the Blue, Joanie Loves Chachi, Fonz and the Happy Days Gang, and Laverne and Shirley in the Army).
ETA: I miscounted. All in the Family still wins, especially since the last two HD spin-offs were animated and therefore don't count.

Age had very little to do with that being an "oops" pregnancy.

American Idol is baaaack.
"American Idol" auditions begin Aug. 4 in Cleveland. Other tryouts in addition to Orlando are set for Washington, D.C., on Aug. 18; New Orleans, Aug. 31; Las Vegas, Sept. 12; Anchorage, Sept. 28; and San Francisco, Oct. 5.
Obligatory Link
Cleveland and Anchorage are certain to be hotbeds of american talent. It's possible that this season may suck even more than years previous.
I will give $100 to any FB poster who auditions for the show and gets shown on TV.

You didn't see me during the Houston auditions last season? If not, you can go ahead and send me a check.

They are alive and strong on Spike TV at 11:05 p.m. on Mondays, although Eleanor the Weeper told Austin to shove his pearl necklace up his ass last night.

Who was the poster who mocked the idea of elite athletes using energy gels?
"Within the last hour prior to his start time, during his warmup, Lance will most likely consume a PowerBar PowerGel and a full bottle of sports drink as well as at least one additional bottle of water." [from the above link]

Not to put a damper on the party, or the thought of you sending out free checks, but the age restriction is currently 16-24. Any of you out there under the age of 24?
There is talk of changing the age to 18-27(which will prevent future tragedies like Diana DeGarmo) - but there is a lot of push back from the teens.
