mea culpa. all i can say is that it made sense at the time. I knew Spanky would be exposed to that sort of behavior eventually, but I am sorry it was from me- i think we all assumed it would have been from Penske.

Good effort It evokes the simmering, as yet unrequited like that Paigs has for the Spankster. It's a standard, as befits posters of a certain age. And it's a lovely song.

The only thing that keeps it from being a winner in my book is that it is still too true to the original. Not Bob's Springsteen entry suffers the same flaw. A parody needs to be true to the mood of the peice, yet have lyrics better adapted to the subject of the parody.

It's a fine line, one I have never been able to walk myself. But I applaud your effort.

since I have had at least some hand in ruining this board, let me see if i can start the repair process:

spanky, We know you work out of your pastoral home. It seems a very informal setting in that children wander through your work area at their whim. I hope i'm not presumptous, but I take from that you do not have clients showing up. i guess I assumed some high level consulting job, where you might travel to distant locations from time to time. then you mention employees. this begs the question- where would they work?

Do you have a formal office somewhere?
What is your average work day like?
Are you hiring?
Are you a mean boss?
when was the last time you fired someone, and why were they fired?
