I haven't been to a Halloween party in some time -- I think that my last costume was Daniel Ortega. Or maybe Geraldine Ferraro.

The sugar added kind is super yuck. I like the chunky stuff that is just peanuts and salt and you have to keep it in the frig or the oil separates to the top. Yum yum.

Or think if they argue enough they will get what they want.

It works well.

If I were to be dealing with children and an opportunity came up, I would probably try this out. Employees (especially executive, engineer, and lawyer employees) are like children.

Yeah. My daughter used that one, unprompted, on a friend's spoiled-brat child who was demanding more strawberry milk from her dad. It was awesome.*

What I want to know is just how many kids have severe reactions to peanut products. According to this website: http://www.allerg.qc.ca/peanutallergy.htm#statistics , approximately 125 people die each year in the USA secondary to food-induced anaphylaxis. I did not read far enough to figure out how many of those people die from peanut exposure. And I certainly wouldn't want anyone who is severely allergic to have to suffer.

But I have never met anyone whose kid was that allergic to peanuts. My kid's school is apparently peanut-free, but I don't think there are any kids there who are deathly allergic. In fact, since it has never, ever been an issue, it totally slipped my mind that the school was peanut-free.

Do public schools have these policies? Or do kids who are allergic to peanuts have to go to private, peanut-free schools? Maybe this increases the number of allergic kids at private schools equipped to monitor peanut consumption?

It seems to me (and I could be wrong) that schools declare themselves to be peanut-free, whether or not they have any kids with peanut allergies that year. And once you're known as a peanut-free school, you have to maintain in case a parent with a child allergic to peanuts wants to enroll their child.

But I will tell you this: There are 100s of lunatic parents at my kid's school who overreact to everything in an effort to shield their child from absolutely anything they can think of. And I think 80% of the kids are on some kind of behavioral modification drug, as are their parents. It is truly amazing. If my daughter didn't love the place so much (what coddled, overprotected child wouldn't?) and if it wasn't necessary she go there for other reasons, I would yank her out of there so fast, her head would spin.

TM
I was a volunteer at a school party once where one of the kids in Monster's class had a peanut reaction from picking up and biting a chocolate chip cookie that had merely been on the same plate as a peanut butter cookie.

It was very frightening.

my health plan upped my pre natals to $50 co pay. I still take them since I am nursing.

50 bucks is a lot for pre natals

I originally read Ferraro as Fellatio when scrolling up.

I like roasted almond butter. I have only been able to find it at Trader Joe's, where it only comes unsalted. So I fucking have to mix the goddamn salt in. I like whipping in some honey. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Could you tell me why the fuck the co-pay on my Zyrtek went up to $50 this year??? (It was $35 last year.) That is obscene. Apparently I am not ungodly wealthy after all. I would be though, if it wasn't for the fucking $50 monthly allergy medicine expense.

eta: Two things. Until recently, I had my daughter fooled into thinking that she had to bring daddy his medicine. She just figured out that I simply wanted another beer.

She doesn't really know what is beer and what isn't. She drinks water almost exclusively and just the other day, she saw a long-neck soda bottle (Izze pink grapefruit) in the fridge and asked if she could have a beer.
I have used nearly all of those, except for the food ones. I figure the rest of the world is going to do its best to give my kids food and diet issues, so why should I put in any effort on that front.

You might also want to consider adding the following:

Daddy drinks because you cry.
