I am always impressed when someone can huddle together with a few others and define for us what "conventional wisdom" holds, based on their group survey.

Ah, I get it.

The ocean current stuff isn't new. These people just got together and tried a new variation of the explanation.

Still lacking in any foundation, but they get news coverage for a week or two for their org.

I was taking Christine Todd Whitman's word for it, based on the thinking of the EPA. That being their job and all.

And c'mon -- the little buzz you get about saying that global warming isn't happening would disappear if everyone else agreed with you. You don't care about atmospheric temperature -- you derive great psychic benefits from telling liberals and scientists that they're all wrong.

At this point, all I can say is that I am glad you recognize discrete groupings.

(Did you miss my seven posts about how I have no scientific support to assert that global warming is or isn't a problem? And that the problem is that no one else does, either? Or, are you simply addicted to the "re-cast the issues" method of political discourse?)

Ah, well. It's new to me! I'll have to Google it.

P.S. I think that this line would be a good Board motto:

"You misapprehend my point (not surprising, given the oblique reference and lack of context)."

There are days in which that would be the best choice.

We also have our "Jane, you ignorant slut" days.

We would have to depend on the mods to switch between them as appropriate.

I saw clips on the news shows. From what I did see, he seems to be an incredibly angry guy.

I think he just needs to accept the fact that in the US, we do not elect presidents by the popular vote. If he is so angry about the electoral college, he should channel that anger into a movement to amend the constitution. Although, that would probably fail and then he would be even angrier, so maybe that is not a good idea.

I also think Dean's recent failure as a Dem Prez candidate has contributed to Gore's anger, too. I think he thought endorsing Dean was a bold political move and now that Dean's campaign has gone south, it just makes Gore look like he jumped on the bandwagon of a loser.

It wouldn't be prudent to make any of that available- you'all start looking at it, and ain't no question there'll be some global warming going on. Aye carumba!

He said things like this while red-faced, visibly shaking, and screaming loudly:
Quote:
"He betrayed this country! He took America on an ill-conceived foreign adventure that was pre-ordained and planned before 9-11 ever took place. I'll tell you, it is not a minor matter to take the loyalty and patriotic feelings of the American people and trifle with them."

I really don't understand what your problem is. I understand that you think there is no scientific support to prove the alleged phenomena of global warming. But you also understand that lots of scientists think that there is such a problem. You surely must agree that it is the consensus view (or "conventional wisdom") in the relevant scientific community, though there are some who disagree (with good reason, you would say). Unclear to me how I am "re-casting the issues."
