Here's a hint: When you're an asshole and you're just riffing on yourself, you're occasionally humorous and mostly tolerable. When you're an asshole and you're riffing on other people, you're just an asshole.

Hell, I'd believe people can burn up to 300 calories during sex.

Think about it... Missionary style a guy has to do approximately 100+ push-ups, half of them at rapid speed, plus his heart is racing extra hard due to natural human excitement. If you get creative and shift positions a few times and try some acrobatic shit, you're burning even more. The average person probably changes positions two to three times during a solid sex session, so I'd say 112 calories may be low.

Of course, getting a blow job or laying down like a slug on bottom will probably not help cure the beer gut.

S(Shit, your shoulders alone burn like hell if you're fucking missionary for too long)D

Yours don't?

Well, that's kind of . . . sad.

I suppose you can buy the SO some manuals or something . . .

(For rapid weight loss, fake orgasms while watching TV. It's an additive effect.)

Sloth,

Spare me the indignation.

Nomads & iPods

No, I guess it's just that one.

(iPod support/service has been a problem. Plus, if you value connectivity, it binds you into buying Macs forever, unless you are brave enough to try the shareware that supposedly connects the two systems. There is no real sound quality difference. Apple's manufacturing quality has generally been good - at least, better than never-before-heard-of brands like Nomad. Finally, read about Apple's new download music store - that only works with the iPod, and might be worthwhile for you.)
Despite the efforts of people like Burger to convince me to come over to their side, I remain a Windows person. But Apple is selling an iPod for Windows now. I've heard that the iPod's design is preferable to the Nomad, and would consider paying a little bit more for that. And I guess I'd trust Apple to give better service than Nomad, but that's not based on anything in particular.

Having sex, yes. Having an orgasm, no.

If orgasms really burn that many calories I'm cancelling my gym membership and scheduling myriad TCB sessions.

Nonsense, and welcome back.

Oh, and apropos of nothing, wasn't "Paradise Hotel" the name of a Styx concept album?
edited to add that "Paradise Theater" popped into my head the instant after I clicked to post

Damn, I didn't know that. Apple does build quality structurally (meaning, as opposed to the OS debate), but they tend to charge for that quality. If you have the extra bucks, and can actually get the Windows version, (does that version work with the online store?), I'd go for it.

Thank you.

And I'd keep reading, quoting and replying to ketchup but I'm now enthralled in the Minneapolis Trading Spaces diary.

And eating chocolate, every last calorie of which I am aware and can immediately see on my hips.

Damn the FB.

It took the addition of the avatar finally to clue me in on the origin of your moniker. Frankly, I'm a "Weird Science" guy, myself, and never the twain shall meet --- kind of like Tarantino's observation about either liking the Beatles or Elvis, but ultimately having to pick one or the other.

I'll start then. Wrong-O about the smoking. My smoking friends are already starting to get old looking - and let's just say it doesn't look good on them (and smells worse, but that's nothing new).

They're "afraid" to say it because we allegedly live in a civilized society, and I for one am glad of it. The ability to keep your mouth shut about your own stupid prejudices is a characteristic that separates us from the animals.

Edited to add that the ocassional joke-bash is not a bad thing - a relentless stream of insults is quite another thing altogether.

The windows version is identical to the Mac version. Same thing/same box. Only the software (which comes with it) and connectors are different. If your computer has a Firewire/IEEE1394 jack, you're set right now. If you have only USB, you'll have to wait a bit (sometime soon).

Apple has announced that it will produce a windows version of iTunes that will work with its music store, by December, although rumors have it coming sooner.

Ahhh, choices. I always have to have them (I'm the one who packs six pairs of shoes for a two day trip...), but never make them (...and then wears the same pair the whole time). I'm a big Chet fan...Chet the blob, not Chet the ass.

And other than Less Than Zero (which really isn't a good movie, but I still love it since my parents wouldn't let me see it, making me think it must be better than it is), Weird Science is my favorite Robert Downey, Jr. movie.
