It depends on what you mean when you say "scientific support." If you mean definitive and uncontrovertable proof, well, you are right.
But if by "scientific support" you mean that there is no scientific evidence that supports this theory, well, you are wrong if you say that. There is scientific evidence. The real issues are whether it is good data and if it is good data, are the conclusions that are drawn from this data based on sound scientific principles and logic and deductive reasoning and can you explain any data that seems to contradict the conclusions.
It is very rare in the world of biological science for there to be definitive and uncontrovertable proof. But that doesn't mean that we can have no inkling whatsoever regarding whether a biological phenomena is occurring or not.
When the very survival of the planet may depend on whether this phenomena is occuring or not, we would be fools to wait around for definitive and uncontrovertable proof of this before we do something about it.
The first thing everyone needs to do about it is to stop the mindless breeding. We are not animals. We have a conscience and that separates us from the animals. We don't have to act on every biological urge we feel.
Stop the breeding before we overrun the planet with humans and choke it to death and then we all die.
No more new people is the best way to stop killing the earth. If the rest of you fucking (no pun intended) people would listen to me on this point, there might be a viable planet 200 years from now.

Help me understand
you know the flap about Bush's service record in the Nat'l Guard? You know how its being sold that his family pulled strings so he got out of normal service and into the Guard? Doesn't the fact that he ended up flying jets indicate he must be relatively smart, I mean they don't give every knuckle head a $$$$$$ jet to wreck. The military only gave Kerry a tiny little boat, not even a PT boat. Doesn't being selected to fly a jet indicate something?

We were too busy listening to your "Stop Abortion Now" point to hear this one as well.

No. I will say only that you define the relevant scientific community far too narrowly, to encompass only a self-selection of motivated individuals, and leave it at that.

I have to think all day at work. If I have to think while I fuck, too, then I submit that the costs of this new theory are far too high to bear.

Doesn't surprise me at all that the pro-choicers equate abortion with birth control.

I hope for Mrs. Baggin's sake that you are just trying to be witty. If a man isn't thinking while he is fucking the chance his female partner will be satisfied with the event is low.
If more men would think while they fuck, sales of vibrators would plummet.

I think it is fair to say that there is a consensus in the scientific community that an ever increasing amount of animal life and automotive and industrial emissions coupled with an ever decreasing amount of plant life on Earth is altering this planet in ways that are detrimental to the ability of this planet to support either plant or animal life.
The root cause of the problem is too many people. While the pro-choice crowd might see abortion as a means to address this problem, the more rational thinking among us feel that birth control, the empowerment of women, and education are better tools to use.

I couldn't even tell you which scientists I'm talking about, so if you think I am somehow "defining" the scientific community, you are mistaken. I meant to generally refer to scientists who know something about the field. My understanding is that most of them think global warming is a problem, and that Christine Todd Whitman and the EPA came to the same conclusion. I really didn't think any of this is controversial.

Take a step back Ty. Global warming is based upon the observation that overall temperatures have increased by X degrees over the past hundred years. Now there is the apparent observations that cyclic changes have happened repeatedly over history, and it seems that temperatures are actually falling lately.
One might think there would be some credence given to the possibility that what evidence there was of global warming was merely another cyclic change, I mean shit there is a recent downward trend. No, instead a downward trend in temperatures is actually the fault of global warming, which we know is a fact because of an apparent rise in temperature before it started causing temperatures to drop.
You can't see reason to question this?

This is not entirely true. By most accounts, it is anticipated that the human population will begin to contract in between 30 to 50 years.
