Happy almost bday! You should post that recipe on the food board. Sounds amazing.

Where's Str8 when you need him?

This board should have a daily Jumble feature. Or Junior Jumble for the posters on politics.

FYI, Ricky Gervais is doing occasional podcasts, which are free on iTunes, for the upcoming Ricky Gervais Show. I've only watched a few but there's a funny one about how much Karl hates Ricky's cat. There's a new one from 9/1.

There is one right around the corner from me. There are two little kittens that run around the place and one usually sits on my lap while I eat. I don't think the health department would be too pleased to find that out, but I feel right at home.

The cheddar/beer fondue is especially yummy.

I'm only saying that feel pretty, not that I am.

Speaking of podcasts...

Tonight is the first of the ten mini episodes of Battlestar Galactica on Scifi.com:
Quote:
Beginning tonight the television series “Battlestar Galactica” will travel from outer space into cyberspace. The Sci Fi Channel, which broadcasts the series, has created online mini-episodes, the first of which is scheduled to be posted at midnight.

The 10 Web segments, each just a few minutes long and viewable on devices ranging from iPods to laptops to desktops to full-size television sets, feature characters from the television show. And they have the same dark feel of broadcast episodes of “Galactica,” a post-apocalyptic survival tale of humans on the run after their home planets have been destroyed.

The mini-episodes will go online, one at a time, on Tuesday and Thursday nights until “Galactica’s” season premiere on Oct. 6. They focus on two soldiers in a new city built by humans fleeing Cylons, a race of machines that has wiped out human civilization elsewhere.

The two face difficult choices about how — or whether — to fight back against a new Cylon invasion, the climactic moment of last season.
Their decisions will help explain their actions in future on-air episodes.
BSG is one of the best television shows I've ever seen. If you haven't caught up with Season 2 (damn SciFi for breaking up the DVDs, 2.5 isn't available until September 19. I have them all on my Tivo, though, if anyone wants to come over and catch up.), you only have a little over a month to do it.

I love dogs in pubs. It only happens in the city. Or the boonies.

Another installation

of Lessons Learned by RT So You Don't Have To.

If the underwire in your jog bra pops while you're beating the shit out of a punching bag, think seriously about speaking up in boot camp about not wanting to run stairs or else you'll end up with an inch long gash in your sterum. Yes, you may sound like a pussy, but dammit this hurts.

Does suburbia even have pubs?

Note: I don't go there often. I don't really know the lay of the land.
