Do we get 100 or 110 messages before the box is full?

My rule: shirt comes on when you enter the city proper.
Running path? Feel free to take it off.
Beach? Of course, off.
But once you get back to civilization, shirt must be worn.

It isn't clear to me that they aren't at the beach.

On another note, I find this interesting:
Some people (mainly the secretary that sits outside my office, but others as well) refer to others as living "on" Staten Island. I assumed they use that phrasing because Staten Island is an island, and they like to think of people living on, rather than in, an island. However, these same people also refer to people living "in" Manhattan. No one talks about living "on" Manhattan, although it, too, is an island.

Are you calling me fat? How rude. It's not like I don't try - it's just that I have a really slow metabolism.

They make up for it by standing "on" line.

It doesn't look like that to me, but you know the area better than I do.

Why is it "The Bronx"? Why not just "Bronx"?

Maybe that's why you never have to go to the bathroom when you jog?

With the exception of Spalding Grey, people don't think of Manhattan as a small island off the coast of North America. And he's dead.

Staten Island appears to have only 4 links (bridges) to other land? Some of which is also islands? And Manhattan has roughly a bazillion? So it seems more connected?

TCOTU query
So I just got off the phone with someone at my company's parent company in NYC. He was really pleasant and asked about my weekend, and said it was nice talking to me, and was, well, almost overly nice. Is this more likely to be (a) because I outrank him or (b) because he secretly hates me (as a stand-in for my dept or my boss or my company; he's never encountered me to my knowledge)? I am confused. Even LA and TX people are not quite that overly nice.
