Apropos of which, I just ordered two cases of commercial toilet paper from Quill.com. This article may be wrong, but made me wonder whether my confidence in TP supply chains was misplaced. It look some work to find a supplier which would take an order. It won't come for a few weeks, but it's nice to think it's coming.

Should have taken that FAM opportunity when I offered.

It was a painful lesson learned in 2005. Right now, I'm good, and liquor stores are essential here.

I think we're medicinal for MS and epilepsy, but that's it. Recreational is out of the question.

What do these people not understand about the statement, "COURTS ARE CLOSED, NOBODY IS IN CONTROL, AND THE BANKS DO NOT GIVE A FUCK THAT YOU REALLY REALLY WANT TO CLOSE ON A REFI NEXT WEEK. THEY'VE GOT SOME OTHER PRESSING ISSUES AT THE MOMENT."
Am I an idiot for paying my mortgage on 4/1?

You haven’t missed the window. You can call up and they’ll give 90 days, no questions asked. Then you can either pay all accrued principal and interest 90 days from now or they’ll capitalize it all into loan and stick on back end.

If you’ve something better to do with the money or are paranoid that this is going to go full societal collapse and want to hoard cash (some folks are doing this, and not irrationally), its not a horrible idea.

I’m in a period where I’ll get calls, get bothered, but won’t get paid.

Consulting contract I had was frozen, which I expected.

I expect to come out this pulled in two directions. Public/private financing is going to be needed, so I should see gain there. And loan workouts should be numerous (lotsa folks thinking they can carry for the long haul w/o all their previous revenue about to get burned out of cash real quick).

This stimulus ain’t going to cut it. We need a giant national moratorium on obligations. That’s the only way this doesn’t turn into a disorganized shitshow where the fucked sectors take down the resilient sectors (it all overlaps in this mess).

Banks oddly seem to be doing an admirable job of stepping up and give people leeway. Pricks who get that leeway aren’t so kind to tenants in turn, unfortunately.

We need to run a roughly $20 trillion deficit this year (or otherwise have the Fed print basically that much money), with the government covering pretty much all obligations. If we can't have an economy because we have to stay home, the government needs to be the economy.

I understand that most of Europe has essentially done this, with the government cover all or much of payrolls while people can't work.

Why not just giant freeze for 60 days? Why does it have to be a fix that keeps all the gears rolling?

I'm not sure what you're suggesting. Most people need to get paid to go for 60 days. The groceries and booze don't pay for themselves.

Re: Objectively intelligent.

OK, this is crazy. The Governor of Massachusetts, a Republican, says that the state ordered masks which the federal government confiscated and gave to other states. The state set up, on the sly to keep the federal government from finding out, a flight by the Patriots' jet to go to China to bring back gear.
