Well since you did all the work to organize a list...

1. Harry Potter books: I also don't get adults reading the books. I enjoyed the movies, however.

2. Tattoos: No opinion except when they get old and faded (and dated), they are not nearly as cool.

3. That Dress: I liked it. I'd go with a light wrap rather than a scarf, if anything.

4. Hulk: This looks sucky. Perhaps we'll blockbuster it, but no way will I pay even matinee to see it.

5. Movie trailers: Whatever.

6. Secondhand Smoke: Children of smokers have much higher rates of respiratory infections and asthma. I mean, smoke full of carcinogens can't be good for you, right? Plus it brings on my migraines which is plenty to hate. And folks - it reeks (I realize that smokers may not notice quite how bad it smells since their senses of taste and smell are dulled, but trust me - that's some nasty smelling stuff).

7. Arousal study: No comment - I'm on a watched computer.

I dig it actually, but it does make dating hard (not an issue anymore). With heels - I'm easily 6'0" and I think I freak out shortyboy attorneys sometimes. I'm hoping the height will balance out the giant fetus bulge that is appearing, but I'll probably just look like a knocked-up Amazon.

At this point in the week, I need all the explanation I can get. I still haven't figured out AG's vitamin comment. But then, it's been one of those weeks.

Can't wait to get home and hear Mrs. Ramone say dirty little things like "you make me so hot" or "you make me so wet" or "you make me so dark."

{Sigh.} My bad. I thought Fringey's "softball" comment was about the obvious joke that you'd never seen vagina darkening because you'd never actually gotten a woman aroused. Har har. So you'd need Vitamin E (a folk aid for sexual stamina). Then Bilmore said you'd never seen it because it was night. So you'd need Vitamin A (necessary for night vision).

I'll have you note that y'all forced me into this pedantry.

For some time, I was excited, thinking that, in Atticus, I had finally found a kindred spirit.

But then I realized that he was speaking of pedantry.

I though I'd seen everything. I wonder if it's going to become a fashion trend among GA's...

Accessories question

in terms of other accessories, consider:

16-18 inch (short) necklace (pearls?)

shawl with some pattern in it (flowers?) Or a cardigan in a pastel color would be pretty, too.

you could pin a silk flower at the waist where the dress ties shut. It would be very '30s/retro, but it could be cute. keep jewelry low-key and classic if you do this - pearl earrings/necklace should be about it.

sparkly bangle bracelets would be fun with the bare arms

long dangly/chandalier earrings (but not with a necklace)
Thank you all for the input -- it was very helpful. With your ideas in mind, I went to my favorite shoe store and found a gorgeous pair of sandals (Unlisted by Kenneth Cole) in a pale blue that has lavendar and silver tones. I was recently given a beautiful Alpaca wrap from Peru that has both the dress color and the sandal color. I also have a silver short-chained necklace with a blue opal (containing the dress and sandal tones) and silver Elsa Perretti shell earrings. I will have to carry another handbag but I have another pretty antique bag with all the same colors in little flowers.

Oh, and I also bought the sandals in black!

Bum Fights

So, it would seem our bum fighting producers (remember the bum fight video?) have been sentenced to probation.

What's not to get? They are good stories that are well-written. Why wouldn't adults want to read them? Because they are about kids? Witchcraft? I can't tell you how many "adult books" I read are total crap.

Well, not that kind of adult book.

Posner waxes philosophic about homosexuals . . .

. . . in his concurrence in Hamm v. Weyauwega Milk Products, Inc., No. 02-2529, slip op. at 15 (7th Cir. Jun. 13, 2003).

As noted by the Greedy Clerks on That Other Board, Judge Posner takes judicial notice of the fact that "[M]en are more hostile to male homosexuality than they are to lesbianism." (slip op. at 18.)

Which is counterintuitive, and sort of dumb, as any rise in male homosexuality takes hetero competition for babes out of the picture, while lesbianism takes out the babes.

(Why, it's like decrying high unemployment, and raising taxes to fix it.)

Metrosexuality Hits the Mainstream

Sorry, fellas, but I think you'll need to find a new word, or lifestyle.

Metrosexuality is now mainstream: "Marketers refer to such style-obsessed shoppers as prosumers, or urban influentials — educated customers who are picky or just vain enough to spend more money or to make an extra effort in pursuit of their personal look."
(Article in the Times Magazine.)

Spoilers, Wimbledon, actresses who I just dont get

Wimbledon starts today. Live from 7am to 1pm on ESPN2. I dont have the two weeks off but do have some time off. Did we decide that spoiling is out, or did Slave's theory that rebroadcasted matches at night are watched solely by people who saw the scores on Yahoo and AOL? Do I need to put Less and comapny back on my ignore list for the fortnight so Wimby isnt spoiled?

And speaking of tennis, I finally figured out who Kirsten Dunst lookes like. I saw the cat's meow last night (she was horribly miscast as Marion Davies who was probalby eight years or so older than Dunst who actually got kinda valley girl at points). Kirsten Dunst looks like Monica Seles. I also saw Kirsten for about two seconds on a rerun on MTV Movie awards. While I know Halle and CHarlize are very pretty ladies (though I dont *feel* them per se), I honestly do not get what is attractive about Dunst. Beady eyes, thin lips, round face. I dont get it. Ther is another actress I dont get eithre but I cant think of who she is rightnow.

Actually, I would like to thank the FB for giving me the ultimate excuse to skip the grande finale. The senstive, calorie counting, metrosexual FB male shoudl be most understnading of these needless extra calories and would probalby never swallow himself when he could have a bud light for the same calories. Thjerefore he should be understanding of my now wanting to skip this.

Or if he is SD, he would say "dont worry chick. you dont have to swallow this cat's cum. I want your ass to look nice and tight in the spring and summer. And if you do swallow, dont tie a sweater around your waist. It makes your SOFA big."

Thanks FB!!!
