(1) Over on the PB, bilmore and Not me and Atticus have been discussing the criminalization of reckless behavior. Whoever thought we'd be drawing a parallel between Bill Janklow and Great White! Good times.
(2) There ought to be a civil class action against these people for reckless infliction of emotional distress. I can't go to a club to see live music without obsessing about where the exits are. I'm still scared from the coverage of that fire.

Shit ya. I went to a show a couple months ago that involved giant flames shooting out of the floor and all I could think was where are the exits and how do I get myself a clear path out before everyone else. And that was in a brand new, expensive facility. Freaked me out.
But really, the Great White guy was (just) irresponsible in not checking exits, etc. before he lit the shit. The owners are the ones who let the club exist in that condition. They're the ones who I would want to answer for that catastrophe if my friend/family member died there. |
