You are simply lucky that the areas of your life in which you lack self-control do not have similarly immediate deleterious aesthetic affects, thereby producing obvious "evidence" that people can use to justify their judgments about you, as overeating or lack of exercise have. Otherwise, your own lack of self control would be equally "indefensible."
Why do you think it is that you are so repulsed by the lack of self control when it comes to eating when you clearly lack self control in other areas? Why do you care so much about how other people look? Why do you and Coltrane seem to encounter so many people who make excuses for their own weaknesses, when I don't? Why are those excuses different or less excusable from excuses we all make for all of the other unproductive and unhealthy shit that we do in our lives?
You rail against judgmental people and poseurs and people who pretend to be something they're not, but you're extremely judgmental yourself. And it's just not amusing, like so many superficial subjects that we talk about here are.

Who are you? Am I back on the runnersworld.com boards where people are allergic to hyperbole? Christ.
Thank god my flaws are internal!!

speaking of fat, how huge did Ruben look last night on AI? HE needs to do something fast or he wont live two years. The sweating, the heavy breathing. I am concenred. And his song sucked, but I would still see him if he came here.

That's because you already have it. See all the posts extolling various drinks, drinking experiences, drug fun, hangovers - the difference is, ills or no, it's accepted, and we chuckle at it or do it ourselves. Sitting around with your friends, have you ever been embarrassed to acknowledge that you drink at times? Probably not, because it's not seen as something to be ashamed about.

Yeah, that was too obscure. Sorry. I leave too many unspoken lines in my head.
I was calling you a Mormon for saying "drugs and booze is bad."

Yeah, no one complained when NYC banned smoking and no one's even contemplated a lawsuit against the various manufacturers of alcohol. And I'm sure no one's ever proposed legalizing marijuana.

Apparently so was I. I suggest you reread my original response to your post.

Again, you've changed the facts.
I said I deride people without self control. I don't merely say "You're fat, you suck." Every one of my examples has been of a person who I observed overindulging and lacking any sembalnce of self control. I would never judge a person merely on appearance. Its when I see them on their fourth donut that the visceral distates enters the picture. By the way, as you know, my peeves are hardly limited to fatness.
And I have been fat in my life. I hit 210 in college. My family unmercifully made fun of me. It worked like a charm. I lost 30 lbs in a fucking hurry.
Did I ever say I was not extremely judgmental? I am tolerant of letting people do as they like, but not above making my own personal judgments.

Heart disease kills 700,000 people a year.
Drunk driving kills 17,000*. These numbers have stabilized and even dropped.
*and that number is from MADD, which I know has greatly exaggerated it.

Maybe the operative difference is, your heart disease isn't gonna kill ME.

Recreational marijuana use is harmless. There's no rational case against its legalization.
I personally like smoky bars, but I am not complaining about the ban. There's a reason for it, and I respect it.

Yeah, but fat people bitch when airlines make them buy two tickets when their lard-ass bodies spill over into a second seat.
In contrast, I have yet to hear a drunk drivers' lobby demand special driving lanes. Which, come to think of it, might be a good idea if you could figure out how to enforce their use.
