Oh, I dunno. Where Borat is doomed to failure, Belgrade Bimbo succeeded nicely, I thought.

I never require sock for primary customer. Only for not frequent friends.

Sure, when judged against such company as Juan the Marine and Blue Triangle.

Dreamgirls
I caught the beginning of the late night re-broadcast of Oprah last night with the cast of Dreamgirls. From the clips they showed, it looks to be really good.
I didn't stay up late enough to see if they showed Jennifer Hudson (one of my faves from a couple seasons ago of American Idol) singing "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going." She's got big shoes to fill with that role. I had the original Broadway cast recording and loved Jennifer Holliday's voice.
Oprah was in serious gush mode over this film. However, I'd take that as a more serious review if she hadn't just been all gushy over Gray's Anatomy.

Pre-Death "Funerals"
Is this a new trend or something?
There is one at my church tonight for a woman with very advanced ALS. They are calling it a celebration of her life.
I was thinking maybe all the woman's family would be in town for Thanksgiving, the weather in December might be too cold for her to go out and they didn't think she'd make it through the winter.
But the Fugee Mom mentioned she went to one at her church last week.
The family of the woman in my church is having a tough year. She is the grandmother of the girl who was killed on the LIRR tracks earlier this fall.

I think that's nice, but maudlin as all hell. They don't blend whiskey strong enough to sit through that sort of thing.

This is what makes Oprah unwatchable for me. Her ridiculous over-the-top gushing over celebrities has ruined her for me even when she doesn't have any other celebrities around her.

What you are revealing is that these are all the same socker...considering the board is slow due to the impending holiday.

It's most annoying. My friend, who has been an avid watcher of Oprah from the get-go (my friend writes for and about TV, and uses that as justification for watching a lot of TV), says that Oprah's annoyingness increases exponentially the thinner and more in shape Oprah gets. When she was fatter, she was more down to earth and helpful and mooned less* over celebrities. Now she is just annoying as hell and out of touch. I have not tested this theory, but I suspect that it's true.
*As opposed to mooning Less, which is an entirely different story.
