[i]Whitney Houston Pregnant?

Troubled pop star Whitney Houston is pregnant with her second child, according to multiple unconfirmed reports in the US. It is thought Houston fell pregnant on a recent inspiration-searching trip to Israel with her R'n'B husband Bobby Brown. Speculation was first sparked following the pair's performance on music channel VH1's Divas Duets show last month - where viewers commented on the enlarged state of the singer's stomach. Houston, 39, has a history of alleged drug misuse and a turbulent relationship with Brown, 34 - who is the father of her 10-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina. American's Fox News journalist Roger Friedman comments, "She has been trying to have a baby for years. Let's hope that she will have a healthy pregnancy."
Question: how can a woman fall pregnant?

She's spent so many years trying to convince people that Bobby wasn't responsible for her injuries, it's become a habit.

("Oh, that? I walked into a door. We think it's a girl.")

Holy crap! *That* photo is truly scary.

That said, she looks just about right for a model. She been on their traditional cigs-and-coke diet lately?

I'm in the neighborhood of 5'7" or 5'8". I'm not really sure how tall I am actually, but when I get home tonight I am going to make a height mark on my wall and measure it. Maybe it is time to start watching my forthcoming gradual decline in height. I swear my mom has dropped at least a couple of inches already...

Okay, who thinks Daniela is fit and strong with no health problems?

Dammit! Tall women get taken so much more seriously at the outset. When you are shorter, people just automatically treat you like you're a Muppet.

Though I suppose they don't expect a Muppet to sue their ass, so there's some benefit in the element of surprise.

SPOILER

Well she won fairly decisively today. She got knocked out of the French in the second round by Harkleorad, a newbie making her debut who is also touted as the next Anna. If she goes far in Wimbledon, despite her scary ass appearance, it mnight not be all that bad. I recall an anorexic on my Lax team in college who couldnt run more than a couple of miles bc she had no juice. Also, her skin was disgusting. Lets see what kind of energy this girl has. She looks like she has zilch.

Me.

Far as I can tell, no loss of strength or energy after extended play, which would be the first sign of trouble. Looking too skinny certainly doesn't count as being "sick". And, remember, these people function at a level of physical activity that would kill most of us, burning calories at a tremendous rate, so a cutback of calories over a relatively short period of time would be enough to knock lots of weight off fast. I once had a ranked friend who went through somewhat the same - for various reasons, he didn't eat much for about a week, while continuing his eight-hours-per-day training - he lost a huge amount of weight in that week, to the point of looking as ribby and raily as what's-her-name.

Hmm. I'm 5'9" and nobody on this Board seems to take me very seriously at all.

Edited to add: except when I am kidding.

If she continues playing at this level of intensity she'll crap out with a heart attack.

Not me, but I hope I'm wrong. She needs to have several large portions of Bubble & Squeak, or maybe some Toad in the Hole, as well as several pints at the nearest pub. Gotta love that English food.

More talk of the puppies will remedy that...

As to the super-skinny girl, Bilmore's right. While she may have some signs of an eating disorder, I find it highly unlikely. W/out proper nutrition, fatigue would set in almost immediately. She would not be able to perform at a high level for a long period of time.

Mmmmm. Bubble and Squeak. Truly scrumptious. And, my favorite, Spotted Dick.

Gotta love the names, of course--but the food itself is still swill.
