Actually, possibly, wrong. I was using the piece of shit, defective 650 at the time of the K race and actually posted but it took so long to send that the race was over and my post was blocked from entering the board.
I got the 700 activated around 6ish last night and daresay, if I had been using it earlier in the day yesterday, there would be a different thread title today...

Wait for the 750 or, better yet, the BlackBerry Pearl, which is smaller than a Moto Razr.

Yes, the 750 must be right around the corner, based on my experience with Verizon. After months of bitching about my 650's defects, and getting the hand in response, all of sudden they just gave me a 700. I should have held out for the beta on the 750`...

How small can the screen get before it (starts to) diminishes the email and web browser functionalities?

The screen on the Pearl is the same size as that of the 7130, which I use every day, and find perfectly adequate.
The 750 looks sweet. Not sure when it's going to come to the US, but it's a nice-looking machine.

Digi Cameras
I've been looking at all the fancy schmancy new cameras and the ever-shrinking prices and think it may be time to upgrade.
I have a 5.0mp Sony and I love it, but I'd like the image stabilization feature because the crack makes my hands shake and I'd like more than a 3.0 optical zoom as well as the ability to screw with the settings manually. I just saw the 8.1 Sony on sale for less than $300 which is amazing and got good reviews, but it still only has a 3.0 zoom. I like the movie clip feature as well - I use it a lot, but I'd sacrifice it for camera quality and learn to use our video camera instead.
I wouldn't mind sticking with Sony because I already have the memory sticks and I know the basic workings, but even within Sony, there are too many damn choices. However, I'd go with another brand if it made sense.
I'm looking to get the best I can for less than around $5-600 including memory cards - suggestions? Is there a website that neatly rates them?

I wouldn't buy a Sony pooper scooper. Bad quality control.

Are you referring to the class action? Other than that, I seem to recall Sony did well in a CR review on problems over the 1st year.
So what do you recommend, brand-wise?

I have a Sony big screen today, won by my wife a year ago. Both volume buttons have fallen off and 1/2 the input jacks are broken.

Maybe you should stop gnawing on them? What's that old saying - don't look a gift big-screen in the input jack?
