The economist's fatal flaw. No wonder their micro models rarely apply to reality.

It was six degrees when I came to work. But it is pretty sunny out . . .

Well, let's see that again.
She fell on the stage when jumping from the roof. it was too hot for that cat.
She gamely completed the next act, however.

For Swift, it's probably quite an achievement. There's no way Dryden could get it up.

You are a bastard for bringing this up despite your knowledge of my Ornithophobia.
I saw dozens of pigeons swarming and vying for tossed bread crusts while I was eating lunch outside today. It is 65 and partly cloudy here. Sorry about that 6 degree thing, Flower.

My feeling is that you ought to stop posting your picture from freshman year and trying to pass it off as a girl. You're beginning to worry me. I may have to start reading up on dissociative disorder.

Hey, thanks!
To the substance, where outside of Manhattan do drunks not drive --- frequently? Besides, not all overeaters die of heart disease, and even fewer of them take someone with them.
But I'm not real clear on your ultimate point. Are you in the column of people who thinks the overeating vice is (1) worse than drinking/drugs, (2) morally indistinguishable, and thus the drinking/drugs people should probably shut the fuck up, or (3) better? I really don't get how your cocaine doesn't hurt anybody (in America), but my In-n-Out double-double does. If you're against moral judgments for your personal indulgences, I really think you should leave fat people alone.
If the board concensus is to discourage personal behaviors that ultimately cost healthcare dollars, I'm going next door to slap the shit (hi, paigow!) out of some rooftop sunbathers. And then I'm going to the VD clinic to open a can on Less.

Incomplete models.
Either overeating is rational or it's not.
It's rational if people are doing it for enjoyment. If so, it's the same as smoking, drinking, drugs, rock-climbing, kayaking, whatever: it's activity with potential harm to the person engaging in it, and possibly external costs for health care when things go wrong (heart disease, lung cancer, liver cirrhosis, cracked skulls). If you rail against one, you're unprincipled not to rail against another. Otherwise, you should accept that people will do harmful things to their bodies. Sebby, I assume, won't be looking for a free liver when his gives up and runs off to Utah.
Or it's not rational, because it's a physical addiction of some sort, glandular or whatever. Sebby sez, well, I'm not attacking them, because it's a disease. Well, fine, let's not attack the irrational overeaters, because it's a disease. And we'll leave the alcoholics (non-driving) and crackheads alone as well. So go back and read the first paragraph and distinguish overeating from the other activities.
The thread wasn't about hating that fat people bitch and moan for acceptance and toleration. It was about how disgusting fat people are.

You get the shivers about drunk driving because you might los eyour license? Do I need to send you that powerpoint about the woman who got all burned because of an accident with a drunk driver?
Even better, maybe we can talk about my cousin, who was decapitated when a drunk driver decided that she didn't really have to slow down because of all that ice...
