Who cares if the miserable proles out there actually (gasp!) *like* Coors Light, white zinfindel, or Mateus rose? I mean, it is all clearly BAD BAD BAD, and the fact that millions of people go into Applebees (another bad and popular thing) and VOLUNTARILY CHOOSE TO RIDE THE SILVER BULLET is just more proof that they need us to tell them what they should like. Taste is really not subjective, after all.

Jesus.
I never said there was anything wrong with white zin. In fact, I reminded the wine snob that white zin used to be an expensive indulgence. I had a boyfriend acquire a bottle for a picnic on my 16th birthday, and it was almost $30 (almost 20 years ago!).

You are the snob, descriminating against me and my club-going cronies.

Very nice, thank you. Once I pick up the pictures at Wal-Mart, I'll pass them along.

Oh, but it will have to be tomorrow -- the missus and I are having dinner at Red Lobster (after happy hour at Fridays or Ruby Tuesdays), and you know how sleepy she gets after a glass or two of Sutter Home white zinfindel.

Yeah, but the fact that everyone paid $20 for a six-pack of coors at age 16 doesn't mean that the beer is worth it.

Anyway, the safest course when dealing with stoopid waiters is to say Zinfandel. Surely that makes it just a bit clearer that you know what you're talking about.

Melissa Stark had a pre-Ally McBeal Courtney Thorne-Smith thing going on. (Which is a good thing.) If I was in charge of Disney/ABC/ESPN, I would have given the nod to Ann Werner (who got married and changed her name, I think.) When they had Ann doing some sideline reporting from Green Bay when it was 10 below, I thought the boys in Bristol should have given her more airtime.

I must be a rube who fell off the turnip truck, but some of the best beer I've ever had was at the Heineken brewery in Amsterdam. Maybe it was more the fact I was in Amsterdam than the actual beer. But I swear it tasted good. Nowadays I just do meth. It's so much easier to order, and you're less likely to embarass yourself when hanging with the hipper-than-thou set.

Good times, good times.

(Inaccurate, that is, except for the narcissistic part. And the part about me being hot shit. And the part about me having a teeny tiny package.)

Oh wait, I forgot that we do not flame each other anymore. We engage in polite but heartfelt disputes about who should be voted off For Love or Money. Sorry str8, you're a bit l8 with the flaming schtick. Try the politics board - it never seems to go out of style over there. And pick me up a Mojito while your at it.
Here on the West side (except for Arizona), we switch from standard time to daylight time during the summer months. Douche bag.

Coming up next: my review of Last Comic Standing.

According to my grandmother, the proper term is "blush" wine. As in, "Go get me a tumbler of blush. Out of the new jug, not the one your grandpa backwashed into."

It's the hash. It'll make you thirsty and then anything tastes good. Even skunk beer.

Flinty, nobody falls off a turnip truck anymore. Even People magazine has caught up and now uses the expression "fell off the rhubarb truck." It's not alliterative, but that's ok because alliteration is passe.

Lowenbrau tastes a lot better when brewed in Munich than when brewed in Waxahachie under license to the Miller Brewing Co. I wonder why.

Speaking of beer, is Heinekin the effing WORST beer in the world? The people drinking this swill are always the people (mostly guys) who think they are drinking a yuppie beer but are too conservative to drink Corona or Rolling Rock, which are equally disgusting. All three of these brands have become successful on marketing alone. They're the Nike of the beer industry. "Not only am I offering you shit, but you'll pay more for my shit." My grandfather grew up near Latrobe and said that Rolling Rock was the Milwaukee's Best of Pennsylvania (ok he didn't say EXACTLY that, but he said it was always known as swill)...

Actually, Beast Light brings back good memories.

And my college had Natural Light in the bottle...
You know you're hearing the truth when it feels just right. This man speaks the truth. Thank you Coltrane. Clap, clap, clap. I'd much rather drink Bud or Coors or Miller Light than Heineken any fucking day of the week.

The Heineken in Amsterdam is different than what we get in the US. They even put it different types of bottles to make sure they don;t mix-up the good stuff from Amsterdam with the US swill...or so the head brewer at Stoudt's Brewery in Adamstown, PA tells me.
