Farting Shoes

Fart loudly and frequently, and no one will suspect the shoes.

Fantastic. Now can we get the Pixies back?

Concur. In an effort to avoid that very fate, I steer clear of those oldies.
Heavy rotation currently on the car CD player:
-new Snoop
-new Lil' Kim
-Fifty Cent
-new Talib Kwali
-(old Talib Kwali) Black Star, but I don't think 1998 qualifies as oldies (yet)
-the Wiggles
and the oldest thing in my deck:
-the Broadway soundtrack for the Lion King (mid-90s)
Phew, not my parents yet.

I'll ride with you anytime (as long as you don't start talking about your magic stick). I've been on a alt-pop jag lately though. Lots of new Radiohead and old Wilco. Might be time to get the new Black Eyed Peas album and tilt the scales back in the hip-hop direction.
That said, I thought up the ultimate 90s One Hit Wonder:
Harvey Danger.
And with that, I leave on a high note. Good night folks.

Yeah, I saw the piece on the Today show this morning, which I'm sure prompted 10 million viewers to get to work and go to the site. I assume there were similar pieces on ABC, CBS, CNN. Fox maybe not.
(Of course, it doesn't go into effect until Oct. 1, so you have a few days).
What I'm wondering is, what will happen to telemarketers once every single number in the US is registered? Are they all going to be calling the same 97-year old grandmother in Bismarck, ND, who doesn't even know what the internet is, and doesn't realize that some calls take more than 7 digits to dial?

I refuse to read all the drivel that is posted here. I skim. If I miss something of note, so be it, but it is better than reading a bunch of posts about songs from the '80s. It makes me sad. It reminds me that most of us (and most of my friends IRL too, but not me, dammit) have turned into our parents. We listen to the same music we did 20 years ago. Those early '80s songs are to us as the early 60s "oldies" we hated were to our parents when we were in high school.
Classic rock is oldies. 80s flashback weekends are oldies. 80s or 70s cover bands are oldies. And like the oldies then, most of the oldies now sucks ass (with notable exceptions). It was pop crapola when it was written, and repetition has not made it better, just more familiar. I can't stand my radio. I erupt when my friends suggest we go see Tainted Love, Superdiamond, or The Cheeseballs. Although I see some of it in myself, I am trying not to be as much of a loser as my parents, falling into the safe cocoon of known, reassuring comfort music.

If you have a state-based do not call list, sign up for that in the meantime and it should have basically the same effect.

Is a radio station playing an oldie hit fundamentally different from copying a long prior post, and only saying "this was good"?
