You presume I care enough to calculate it. Meantime, keep it up, and soon the percentages will be such that your first dozen or so epistles on whatever it was won't matter.

If it were a civil case, maybe.

As it is a criminal conspiracy case, not so much. (He doesn't have to do much himself to conspire.)

??? - are you talking about something other than my pathetic spelling.

I can't win - when I email my friends down under or in England (and Ireland for that matter) they always point out my spelling errors. It seems every time I write the term labor or defense in an email overseas, I spell like that but when I post to this board I spell them labour or defence or colour. My subconscious is tortuing me. Both Spanish and French have centralized language centers that determines the rules, is it too much to ask that such a thing exist for English?

I didn't say I wanted him to go to jail. I want him out of office.

The case does involve alleged violations of campaign finance laws. Mr. Delay is a part of the leadership of the U.S. Congress (i.e. the body that passes such laws) and one of the many politicians, candidates, and regular citizens who must abide by them. Surely you would agree that he is not above the law.

Or, do you view laundering money for political donations to be a heroic act of civil disobedience, with Tom Delay as a modern-day Martin Luther King leading the poor, disenfranchised wealthy individuals, corporate contributors, and Congressmen to the promised land? He had a dream? Maybe so, but it ain't exactly the same dream that MLK had.

Sweet pea, if you are writing from here, American spelling is not incorrect, and you should tell them to fuck off. If you are writing for publication in another country, you should adhere to that country's spelling conventions, but shit, the editor can do the changes in that case.

You and I have vastly different expectations. I think Clinton underestimated the deficits during his administration (and even members of his own party bitched about it) but the fun thing was though he was trying to be overly optimistic the numbers always turned out to be even better than his exaggerated numbers.

It made all the experts look like fools. You had to love the irony.

It's only going to lead to a conviction if one of the other two rolls over on him. Which is a possibility.
I didn't need to hear that. Couldn't you have just kept that to yourself?

Are you proposing that we subject ourselves to the grammatical chains of the British, who would probably hand over the job to hacks at Oxford and Cambridge?

Sometimes I don't know you at all.

Seriously, I'm no Delay fan, but I've yet to hear any substantive allegation against him. People just say "Tom Delay" wink wink, nod nod, and we are supposed to convict him.

The campaign finance laws are crap. Have been since Buckly. What else is he alleged to have done, other than being mean.
He said there was not more fat in the federal budget to cut. That might be the most unRepublican statement I have ever heard in my lifetime. I don't think I have ever even heard Ted Kennedy say something that outlandish.

I am putting together a hit piece that is going to every high propensity voter in his district with a Rhino at the top and this quote.

There is no room in the GOP for socialists. We should have knocked out the Tobacco subsidy loving socialist Jesse Helms while he was still in office, and here is a chance to make up for that oversight.

No - I was only responding to the jail comment. Agreed, he should be out of office, as should every politician that breaks the law - even for a hummer.

I think he was specifically speaking of the highway bill, not the budget in general.

I would not want you to have misstatements in your mass mailings.
