There was a song about Mountain Dew that we had to learn when I was in elementary school and sing along with the teacher on our ukeleles. It was about moonshine.

Here is the first verse:

My brother Bill runs a still on the hill
Where he turns out a gallon or two
And the buzzards in the sky get so drunk they can not fly
Just from sniffing that good old mountain dew.

The teacher had to explain to us what a still was, and a buzzard etc.
And the chorus is:

Good ole Mountain Dew, Yahoo
And them who refuse are few
You go around the bend
and you come back again
with that good ole Mountain Dew.

(we used to sing it at camp - I can only remember the chorus)

I settled a wonderfully fucked up case today that would have had me in Chicago for a month next year. God doesn't want us to meet.

Or maybe he's trying to keep me safe from Taxwonk?

Observing the light traffic this morning, I predicted that within our lifetime this entire week will become a de facto vacation week.

My recollection was that as a child I had a best a half-day of school, and most adults worked a full day. Now it's a five-day weekend, 5 1/2 for some.
I agree with part two, but must disagree with the analysis of part one, considering the traffic meter hit an all-time high of 8.3 today and I have worked 28 hours and it is only Tuesday (which seems a bit high for the "fled the private practice" set). How come every Thanksgiving means some sort of emergency transaction?

There does seem to be something weird going on with her chin (you can see on the shows and in some other pics), but it can be easily overlooked.

That's Minka Kelly from Friday Night Lights. In one of the episodes, they return from commercial with a shot of her putting her clothes back on. My first thought was, "Whoa, nice body!" My second thought was, "Hey, this is supposed to be an 8:00 p.m. show." The third was, "Well NBC will move this to Mondays after Studio 60 bites it," but I was wrong.

Ty, Ty@50 says to tell you not to touch, or let your kids eat, your Aunt Mildred's green jello mold tomorrow. The cheese curds have gone bad. WTTW. Bad trip.

Yes. I got an email last night from a client who said that the other side on this long-languishing contract had said that now would be a good time to get them revisions because their legal has some time and won't next week. Fuckers.

Sorry to hear that. My condolences. Try to enjoy holiday even so?

I don't have you on ignore. Indeed, I adapted my browser so that your posts flash, just to ensure that I give them the attention they deserve. On the PB, they appear in 3-point font, but they're still there.

Beautiful goal by Nakamura, but the second clip makes the foul call look weak.
