 | Can you come to my house? I had plans to clean out the "Fibber McGee" closet this weekend, unfortunately I've been working all three days. I did manage to hang a picture and organize the yarn stash a bit though.

I wore my Skechers on Saturday and my Keen boots yeterday and today.

 | I don't think you could wear the mules/slides (wtf is the difference between those, anyway??) I wore today. Though, maybe you park in your living and work buildings. I love LA.

My second bedroom is still a MESS (closet unbelievable, bed covered in stuff, floor covered in stuff -- I've basically just been throwing things in there and shutting the door to block it all out) and my bed is covered in stuff. But, the shelf in the kitchen is up, and the hook for my keys is up. I want to move a bookshelf from the living room to the bedroom, but even if I took everything out I think that's beyond me (it's huge).

Nothing going on with anyone on this second day of 2007? Everyone too busy watching the Saddam hanging video?

 | The Saddam hanging video is soooo 2006. In '07, it's all about the Presidential Funeral.

 | We had old friends who now live out of state do dueling "here's what happened to us" letters.

They are early 40s, with 4 kids 17-6. They now live in a pretty cool place, but are high school sweethearts from Podunk. We only hear from them through these letters other than the odd year where we happen to travel near them. No one just happens to be in Detroit, so only close friends (Hi Fringey!) come here.

The guy travels tons. Apparently this year the guy meets a 23 year old woman in Malaysia- she is head dress and burka devout Muslim, but I have to believe had some sexual freedom thing going on, because he divorces the wife and is moving her here. To say the least the two letters took different slants on whether these were positive developments.

He attaches photos, but it's sort of hard to see if the new girl is hot, or female for that matter.

 | You hear stuff like that from time to time. I've never really understood it. Sometimes, those types of things work out, but what the heck does he have in common with a 23 year old devout Muslim from Malaysia beyond the obvious?

 | Yes and no. It's not useless if you have a bunch of crap. It's hateful that you have to find a place for all of that useless shit so you can keep it organized in the first place.

 | I like the Container Store. I organized 2 closets with stuff from there. Those clear plastic hanging sweater divider things are a god send to organize twin sets....v neck and crewneck sweaters---keep silk and cashmere organized.......

(p.s. I felt the stuff was a tad expensive though, we ended up returning some of it...I ended spending a lot. too much for plastic hanging organizers)
