actually, you would have made a subtle funny if you had left out the parenthetical. the parenthetical killed the humor, no offense.
confidential:
if I still had the head dress it wouldn't have been too funny, a bit obvious, and all.

We had people on a date last night at the table next to us, and the guy took a call, and obviously a vacant blabfess call. If that guy got laid, I swear there is no God, or at least he is forgiving of the rude.

With a variation on this theme, at lunch today I saw a man and woman sitting together, food on the table, and each on a cellphone.

Why did they even bother to eat together?

I didn't want to be responsible for any resurgence of a racial/PCness/self-hatred discussion. I sacrificed humor for the good of the board.*

*and, of course, any future political career. Imagine what could be done taking that comment out of context! As you know I'm always careful of what I say.

Because it's more fun that way. The alternative is, what, fast food at your desk? Ick. During the work day, to be perfectly honest, a lot of the time I'd rather go out to lunch with someone knowing that they have to field stuff via blackberry or phone than cancel the lunch. Especially if it's someone I see all the time anyway.

Of course, if these people were in a nice restaurant and/or not working, that's stupid and annoying.
