Funny that you want to drag out this tired exchange since you are so against movies showing pathetic, boring events. Alternately, I cannot believe I am arguing with a guy who has 4,277 posts on an anonymous message board, an avatar of Captain Stillman from Stripes, and insults that begin "you're an idiot".

Yes. Tivoless, I made it a mission to see it this weekend, though it took a couple of tries. Thank god PBS aired it every forty-five minutes.
I liked it as well, mainly because the Johnson quotes (read by Samuel L. Jackson, right?) were always in the vein of "fuck you - I'm a star" when it seemed likely that he would be murdered by a rampaging mob of peckerwoods at any moment. And the "boxing" styles on display were entertaining in their ridiculousness. But Stanley Crouch hasn't gotten any better looking over the years, sad to say.

My Oscar dream
Is anyone else hoping that "America, Fuck Yeah" is nominated for Best Song as a "FCC, Fuck You" message from Hollywood?

Pssst. Diane. If you're going to try and rip on Thurgreed for his choice of avatar, perhaps you should know who is in the picture.
Got that, Francis?

What troubles me is that, while Diane is an old skooler (assumng she is not a sock), she does not get the reference. Even newbers like shifter and rp get it.

Oh, I get the reference, I get the reference. And I'm old skool enough to have at it with TM and still lick and make up.
ETA: Plus it's not like he loved the movie and quotes from it or anything.

Oh shit. You're in for it now. DK is relentless with her flames. She's going to totally rip into you for seeing Stripes. If you're lucky, you'll escape less beaten down than I.
