Omigawd, it's Wednesday already! Wow!! I feel like this week is just flying by! So much to do, all of it interesting and fun, and so little time . . . .

(Half-full is more fun, or at least less depressing. It helps to drink.)

Seems like someone has a case of the Wednesdays. A swift kick usually takes care of that.

Apro...uh, speaking of swift kicks, has anyone been watching the World Cup hockey games?

I have previously mocked Robert Esche, but he has been solid in goal for the US of A. And thank God the US offense finally showed up -- Tkachuk was a machine. His third goal was a thing of beauty set up by Modano and a delightful pass from Bill Guerin.

Tonight's game between Oh, Canada! and Slovakia should be fun. One has to get one's hockey fix while one can, what with the whole no NHL next year thing looming.

I was in Canada last week, soaking it all up, sts. Got my fix. I hope it lasts. Watched Canada/US, Canada/Slovakia, Canada/Russia, US/Russia, parts of Sweden/Czech, parts of Finland/Germany, parts of something else that I can't remember. And many SportsCentre (tm) that played endless loops of various highlights as well as interviews with everyone imaginable. How I love my country and its hockey offerings.

How can a team filled with offensive superstars look like a such a bunch of bozos? They fucking deserve to have a capital city named after a sausage.

Oh, and even though it's Not NHL, I still hate Neeeeeeeedermeyer.

What can I say? We're all bound by our "Apprentice" NDAs.

Meanwhile, "Seinfeld" fan fiction. Something tells me that any appearance of "Just Shoot Me" fanfic would be both non-fiction and non-metaphorical.

ETA: Jesus fucking Christ. BTW, in what kind of crazy fucked-up world does "Airwolf" get more submissions than "Magnum PI"?

Much fanfic is written by people who are attracted to exotic technology. While the Ferrari was cool, ultimately it was just a car with the one added bonus of going real fast.

Airwolf, however, despite being the center of a much crappier show, could fly all around the world, silently sneak up on the bad guys, blast them into a million pieces (without a single piece of collateral damage), then hit the jets and get the hell out so what's his name could get back to playing cello. From a fanfic perspective, it might as well be StarTrek. Plus it had Ernest Borgnine.

Construction crew update

Hank, Oscar has taken it to the next level and asked me if he could call me his friend when I was walking the dogs this morning. He shuffled a bit and hemmed and hawed and used my name a lot (who knew "Replaced Texan" could roll off the tongue so nicely?). I expect a ring by the end of the month.

Atticus, this is territory you don't want to explore. Trust me. Or if not, do a search for "muppet" and "slash" and see what happens. This could scar you for life.

Great, I give them slashfic, and they never post again. They're probably out reading about what really happens when Harry Potter and Professor Snape go head to head.

The PB is killing the FB. Everyone is spending way too much time over there...

So did anyone see "Rescue Me" last night? Pretty funny. I can definitely understand the TVMA rating.

The FB killed the Canada board a long time ago. It's been years since Gwinky posted. Now you all know how it feels.

What's "Rescue Me" and why did it get TVMA?

Be detailed.

ETA and hurry up, I have meetings again all afternoon.
