Document management systems

I have tried to bring this up for years but the response I get when I am looking for a brief to remand is "Just ask around."

Now, however, I have a big person's ear for like six minutes so I put these questions to you:

What document management systems do you guys use?

Is there a system that will work symbiotically with an imaging system?
Send them a copy of the new FRCP. If your firm has ever been subpoenaed, the new rules should wake them up.

Macbook Pro

I have some untaxed 1099 income this year. I was planning on buying a new macbook pro as an offsetting business expensee.

I am undecided between the 15" and 17".

Any suggestions?

Ideally, I would like the 15" with the 160GB hard drive butthat can only be ordered online and I can't buy that before the end of the year and have it delivered at a time where I will be home to get it as we have Xmas and beginning of January trips.

The 17" I can grab at any apple store, but I think it might be too unweildy.

Does anyone have any experience calling Apple with specific delivery instructions?

You don't have an issue here. once you order the computer and Apple has the right to payment and an obligation to send you the computer, you can take the deduction as either a cash basis or accrual based taxpayer.

As a computer user, I can tell you based on my experiences with Dell that the weight and maneuverability issues between a 15" and a 17" are not that great in absolute terms, but the relative difference is substantial.

Can you get the Apple Store to order it (and hold it) for you?

Could you get it shipped to your office?

My experience ordering online was that it was pretty fast - the computer (with three or four options) was built and shipped within 24 hours and arrived direct from Shanghai within about 72.

firefox bookmarks -- moving

Is there any way to upload my bookmarks somewhere so I can move them from one computer to another?

key stroke software

Greetings y'all;

I have an associate working for me (whom theoretically I am "mentoring") whom I believe surfs porn during the work day and also perhaps is a semi-regular poster on Infirmation.com and greedyassociates.com. I can't condone this type of stuff especially since the guy only billed 2087.60 last year.

I would rather not go to IT to get to the bottom of this as (i) it would make me look like a bigger hypocrit than I already am, (ii) would give them more blackmail opportunity, and (iii) would probably cost me between $500-1000. My thought is to install some "keystroke" technology on his computer myself and monitor what the hell he is doing.

Any recs on that type of software?

Dot mac will let you do it. Also you can export from Firefox's bookmark manager and email that file to yourself.

2. Dot mac is good if you have two computers (or more) you want to keep in sync. If it's just a one-time deal, because you have a new computer, just export and copy the bookmarks file. You can email it to yourself, or use a key drive or cd rom.

And this is what you get right now if you hit the Apple store:
