Nice of Dan Rather to give the old chap such a prominent, prime-time commericial, no?
Which world do you live in:

My world, where CBS is a profit-maximizing corporation, serving its shareholders' interests, and devotes programming time to things that will attract viewers and advertisers, like an appearance by a former President, or

Some Looney Tunes world, where air time at CBS is doled out by Dan Rather and other registered members of the Liberal Media Conspiracy (tm) according to their personal ideologies and desire to irritate the GOP Congressmen who impeached the President, without regard to the business ramifications thereof?

I guess all those complaints by the [cough, cough] venerable, old Walter Cronkite that prominent "news anchors" should not be in the entertainment biz have fallen on deaf ears. Shouldn't a puff piece like this be hosted instead by one of the Gumbels?

Or perhaps this guy:

"Dear Mr. Clinton:

I recently saw a bumper sticker that said, "Thank me, I voted for Clinton-Gore." So, I sat down and reflected on that and I am sending my "Thank you" for what you have done, specifically:

1. Thank you for introducing us to Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, Dolly Kyle Browning, Kathleen Willey, and Juanita Broaddrick. Are there any others that we should know about?

2. Thank you for teaching my 8-year-old about oral sex. I had really planned to wait until he was about 10 or so to discuss it with him, but now he knows more about it than I did as a senior in college.

3. Thank you for showing us that sexual harassment in the work place (especially the White House) and on the job is OK, and all you have to know is what the meaning of "IS" is. It really is great to know that certain sexual acts are not sex and one person may have sex while the other one involved does NOT have sex.

4. Thank you for reintroducing the concept of impeachment to a new generation and demonstrating that the ridiculous plot of the movie, "Wag The Dog", could be plausible after all.

5. Thanks for making Jimmy Carter look competent, Gerald Ford look graceful, Richard Nixon look honest, Lyndon Johnson look truthful, and John Kennedy look moral.

6. Thank you for the 72 House and Senate witnesses who have plead the 5th Amendment and 17 witnesses who have fled the country to avoid testifying about Democrat campaign fund raising.

7. Thank you for the 19 charges, 8 convictions, and 4 imprisonments from the Whitewater "mess" and the 55 criminal charges and 32 criminal convictions (so far) in the other "Clinton" scandals.

8. Now that you've left the White House, thanks for the 140 pardons of convicted felons and indicted felons-in-exile. We will love to have them rejoin society.

9. Thanks also for removing the White House silverware. I'm sure that Laura Bush didn't like the pattern anyway. Also, enjoy the housewarming gifts you've received from your "friends."

10. Thanks to you and your staff in the West Wing of the White House for vandalizing and destroying government property on the way out. I also appreciate removing all of that excess weight (China, silverware, linen, towels, ash trays, soap, pens, magnetic compass, flight manuals, etc) out of Air Force 1. The weight savings means burning less fuel, thus less tax dollars spent on jet fuel. Thank you!

11. Thnk you for failing to go after Osama Bin Laden when he was offered to you by the Sudan - we all appreciate your leadership.

12. And we must not forget you forcing Israel to let Mohammed Atta go free. Terrorist pilot Mohammed Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called "political prisoners". However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands. The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, "insisted" that all prisoners be released. Thus Mohammed Atta was freed and eventually thanked the US by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center.

What a guy! If you agree that the American public must be made aware of these facts, pass this on. God bless America and THANK YOU (once again) for spending my taxes so wisely and frugally.

SINCERELY,

A US Citizen

Yes, I heard an Administration official proudly proclaim how, had that granted Mr. Padilla his Constitutional right to consult with an attorney, that attorney probably would have told him to not say anything, and then they wouldn't have (eventually, after days if not months of questioning) gotten him to confess to being part of an alleged plot to attack the US. They were very clever.

You are (allegedly) a lawyer. This should dismay you. Not that the Constitution was violated, but that the fucker was PROUD of it.

Mark my words: I will be telling my grandchildren about how I used to live in a land of freedom, but that was before the wave after wave of "reforms" in the name of combatting terrorism and improving investigation results, all started by the Patriot Act. I'll refer them to you to tell them why the Empiress Jenna really needs to have a camera in their bedrooms.

When presidential memoirs come out, that is fairly considered news, not entertainment.

I think your conservative pals are much more to blame for those folks having been introduced to the American public. There were rumors about other presidents (e.g., George H.W. Bush, JFK) but their political opponents didn't think to seize on them in the same way.

I like the last sentence, and how quickly the author goes from decrying the sordid revelations to revelling in the prospect of more.

Clinton lied about this to keep it secret, but someone else kept asking questions. Who, bilmore, who?

You are so bitter about Clinton that you would take the self-serving word of the Islamist dictators of Sudan -- the people who were harboring OBL -- just to make Clinton look bad.

I can understand that you guys are too lazy to inform yourself on this stuff, but why advertise it? Read, e.g., Ghost Wars and you can learn the truth about this crap.

So many layers . . . it's like an onion . . . .

Query for the Con-side: did the impeachment (a.) help; (b.) hinder; or (c.) have no effect whatsoever on America's ability to respond appropriately to terrorist threats?

If your answer is (a.), who gets the credit, Clinton or the House GOP?

If your answer is (b.), who gets the blame, Clinton or the House GOP?

If your answer is (c.), I'll take my answer off the air.

You apply too much of your typically addle-minded convulated liberal thought processes (and I use those last two words loosely) here Ty.

The connection between Saddam and bin Laden and the Wahhabbists and the Mullahs in Iran and Ramzi Yousef and Terri Nichols go back to the roots of the Islamist Jihad against God, Jesus, Judeo-Christian-Western culture and the American way and those roots are the product of the demonic seed of the drunken pedophile aka Mohammed.

The network of the Islamofacist movement worldwide is motivated by doing the evil work of a bloodythirsty cut-throated murderous tyrannical child-rapist who converted the weakminded nomads of the desert to his cult of personality via the edge of his sword.

The efforts of both Saddam and binladen to perpetuate this cult, whether alone or in concert, are identical rotten fruits of that poisonous tree.

What planet do you live on?

Incidentally, did anybody catch Mike Wallace at the round table discussion at the WWII monument? He launched into a vitriolic speech on why the Iraq war was a bad war to a mixed review. There were some cheers, but many WWII veterans were clearly and audibly unhappy.
