40 Minutes of Hell

How does Lance have only 1:25 on Basso if he finished two minutes ahead of him?
|
Yesterday's stage was not a TT. Lance and Basso were relatively even coming into the last 500 m or so and Lance sprinted ahead for the win and the 20 second time bonus. The race gave them the same time. This is often done when two or more cross the line in a group, so as to make such a mass finish as safe as possible. In this case, giving them the same time means that Lance only for 8 seconds for winning (he got a 20" bonus, Basso got 12").

btw, I was the one who asked rp to correct Coltrane on that one. It's a pet peeve of mine. Not a big enough pet peeve to make me post, or god forbid, actually pm a yucky (albeit, allegedly big-dicked) male. I think we all now know what it takes to actually inspire me to post.
And I prefer to be referred to as a "chick," "cat," or "fox." Anything animal-related will do.

I thought the commercials for the show were pretty funny, but apparently not funny enough for me to remember when it was going to air. I look forward to future TMTS updates.

given Sebby's definition of "cat", I'm not sure that one works here. perhaps the slang term for that animal would, but I'm not sure if you are asking to be called "pussy" here. please clarify.

I've been called worse. But just to get past the censors, let's substitute "fawn" for "cat."

Monday it was mud. Today's lubrication will be good ole fashioned sweat. It's wicked hot and muggy in Bean-town today.

You, a chick, have been called a "cat"? Really? I thought "cat" was male (heh) in sebby-speak. (Or Sammy Davis, Jr./Frank Sinatra/Dean Martin speak.) Huh. edited to note that I was beaten by ncs. And not in a good way, alas.
Speaking of Frank, I miss paigow. So give me one for my baby, and one more just for the road

What censors? Did I miss something? I thought we came over here from the Old World so that we could cuss and spit and belch as much as we wanted without fear of censorship.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

Andrew Hamilton, in search of a little action:
- She must be young, handsome (I lay most stress upon a good shape), sensible (a little learning will do), well-bred (but she must have an aversion to the word ton, chaste and tender (I am an enthusiast in my notions of fidelity and fondness), of some good nature, a great deal of generosity (she must neither love money nor scolding, for I dislike equally a termagant and an economist). In politics, I am indifferent what side she may be of (I think I have arguments that will easily convert her to mine. As to religion, a moderate streak will satisfy me. She must believe in god and hate a saint. But as to fortune, the larger stock of that the better. You know my temper and circumstances and will therefore pay special attention to this article in the treaty. Though I run no risk of going to purgatory for my avarice, yet as money is an essential ingredient to happiness in this world--as I have not much of my own and as I am very little calculated to get more either by my address or industry--it must needs be that my wife, if I get one, bring at least a sufficiency to administer to her own extravagancies.
From the new Chernow book.

So he's a poor guy who wants to be able to spend whatever he wants of her money and thinks he is going to be so much smarter than a mere woman that he will be able to convince her of his ideas.
Maybe that was more of a catch back then.

I have new-found respect for your sport. I would imagine that being sweaty and running around and fighting in mud, wearing nothing but lingerie and heels is quite challenging. Instead of penalty kicks, overtime should be decided by pillow fights and kissing contests.
