The fact that AT&T can't handle the traffic is surprising to no one. The fact they admitted it is.

Any recommendations on which work arounds to use?

Yeah. If you need 3G access on your lappy, just have your employer pony up the $30/mo for a Verizon dongle.

I don't do this, but this is what I would do.

Free lunches are usually low quality and bad service.

Crackberries v. the iphone

So I crushed my iphone and want to wait until WWDC to get another one. In the meantime, I am using a work-issued blackberry.

The iphone slays the blackberry in every way. Pressing those little tiny keys, rolling that wheel around and not having everything in one device at my fingertips = not for me.

Battery life for the blackberry is much better though.

Also, no dropped calls with Verison, but I still suffer through AT&T for the iPhone. no offence.

I am crippled w/o my iphone. Internet is spastic on the bberry. Also no matter what I do, I cannot get my contacts and datebook to transfer.

Obviously I am waiting for iphone 4 then I will wipe my ass with this thing and give it back.

This is now legal again in all 50 states after U.S. v. Stevens.

Yeah, but Steve Jobs prevents it. Except for Atticus, when he's in the can. "Fuck--I said front video camera, not rear."

Plus shit like being able to set appointments from emails automatically into Ical, then having all the info show up on the iphone is classic.

Help me back away from the ledge

The Siren of the 3G iPad is calling to me. I am trying very hard to stick to my rule of never buying first generation gadgets. That's a good rule, right?
