No, that proved that Democrats can get away with draft avoidance. I believe we have now established that Dems can also get away with drugs.
I think R's still have problems with both draft avoidance and drugs.

This is club's cue to remind us that 9/11 changed everything. Club? Club?

Apparently, they bought, from Google, linking rights to several of the most common search strings for this topic, and linked them to their own explanations, trying to keep people away from the more . . . unfriendly descriptions of what was happening. I thought this was very imaginative.

The majority of boomers didn't serve in 'Nam and thus can relate either way.
Gen Xers and Yers, to the extent that they actually bother to vote, don't really give a fuck.
Vets of WWII and Korea (and their generation) are dying out.
It's really a non-issue these days.

Exactly. Who cares if they actually carried a gun. The real question is are they willing to call bullshit and blow stuff up. Ty and I agree (i think this is a "win" for me). 14-2.

I have no idea what the BBC was or was not doing with Google, but you don't have to buy anything from Google to manipulate the results it gives. Because Google predicts your interest in a site from the number of other sites that link to it, Google bombing involves linking to a site. To see an example, type "miserable failure" into Google and hit "I'm feeling lucky."

With scorekeeping like that, how did you lose twice?

the best thing about whoever built this "bomb", is that it has legs. It'll be as relevant 4 years from now.

Very impressive of them (whether they bought anything to do it or just figured out how to manipulate the results). Ty's right - it isn't that hard to do, but I'm so used to Brits being completely techno-illiterate that I'm quite taken by surprise.
edited to add: the miserable failure link is hilarious

Yeah, I'm aware of that. But, you can also just outright purchase a link ranking, and that's (apparently) what they did. (They did cancel it a few days ago, hen the topic hit the public again, as it was probably just too blatant of a manipulation.)
